Black Swift Vineyards

I was looking forward to experiencing this winery but it was closed even though it was posted multiple areas that it would have been open.

Had a really nice tasting there and bought a bottle of our favorites, so the fee for the tasting was waived. Great views!

Amazing view! A tasting is 15 dollars and is waived if you buy a bottle. My favorite of the selection we tasted is the chardonnay. Note that the Black Swift wines tend to be more expensive.

Giving two stars because the experience was terrible. 5 wines presented getting better with each one. Person presenting was more interested in cleaning the tasting room than helping us understand amd engage with the wine or brand.
The worst - the was a gentleman working in a white polo shirt. He came to the bar to my left, I watched him empty the remnants of one bottle of white wine into another. At the bar where anyone could see. Trust me I was horrified. We left and were upset as we don't really know what we tasted or who tasted it first. They're are lots of options in Kewlona....

We had a fabulous tasting at Black Swift with Riley. He seems to love his job! We left with 8 bottles of delicious wine and memories that will last a lifetime. DJ Fran was also a gem.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff, great wine, fantastic views.

We have been member of Hatch for many years and the staff may change, however those who are consistent are so incredible. Riley, Francis, and Jessie make every visit so fun. Any time we have out of town guests we always take them to Hatch or Black Swift, as well as other wineries, and the staff at Black Swift are always a fave.

I have been a member for a couple of years now. It’s always a great stop and can’t beat the view. Lately, Riley has seemed to really hate his job or people in general- thank goodness Jonah is there to save the day with service… needs some looking into there as the wine industry is not looking great- he is sinking your boat…

I wasn’t familiar with this winery when it was recommended by A Grape Experience for our tour, but what an awesome place. The wines were excellent and our tasting experience held outside at the picnic table beside the vines enjoying the stunning views was perfect. Loved hearing about the bird the winery is named after. The view was beautiful, and I now have a few new favourite wines, with the coolest names, like Screaming Frenzy?! Love it! Love this winery!

I was in here on Dec 17 and was so impressed. Incredible wines (loved the cab franc) but also the individual working. He knew the wines so well and clearly has a passion for them. It’s one thing to put a great wine in a glass but it’s a million times better when you hear the story and can chat about varietals, growing conditions, taste profile, etc.Great wines, great people, and absolutely worth a stop.
