Use to come here off and on for years for their soups. Ordered Chicken Laksa, Pho and Beef salad rolls. My chicken Laksa was full of giant tofu, a bit of chicken and lots of yellow broccoli. My husband’s Pho broth had zero flavour and our beef salad rolls were soggy and fell apart and both of our noodles were pre cut up. Odd.
Disappointing and won’t go back.

We orders food to take out and all the rolls were poorly put together, they were all falling apart. The soy sauce we had been given tasted watered down. Not overly impressed with the rolls in general.

Great atmosphere very friendly staff. The menu looks phenomenal. I tried the red curry. A friend tried the tempura vegetables. Both were delicious. Highly recommend the red curry.

I ordered the pad Thai curry on Door Dash. There was no disclosure of seafood in the dish. There was an option to have tofu which I picked. I’ve ordered Pad Thai from many restaurants in Kelowna that do not have any fish or fish products in the dish. Either way there’s a requirement to disclose potential allergens such as seafood on menu items.

I was eating the pad Thai curry that arrived and it tasted like salmon. My fiancée eats meat and tried it and said it was salmon as well. I called the restaurant and calmly explained the situation. The person on the line offered no solution to the meal I could not eat. She blamed DoorDash for the issue and said pad Thai always has fish sauce and prawns. She said it wasn’t salmon but a prawn paste. She did not suggest talking to a manager, and simply mentioned that she didn’t know what to do as they were busy. She took my name and said I could get a credit for a meal on another day. If a restaurant manages a situation like this well, then you want to return and try the food again. This was handled poorly and I had no dinner or solution for what was ordered. It felt like the woman on the phone wanted nothing to do with the call, even though I was calm and reasonable. Very disappointing customer service and lack of disclosure on the menu.

The Pho tasted like noodles in water, no flavour. I asked the server for wonton soup instead. Still wasn’t very good.

Disappointing and unsanitary!
I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but my experience at Yamato West was too unpleasant to ignore. The service is usually a 4/10 but today the state of the restaurant’s cleanliness completely ruined it for me. The light fixtures were filthy—covered in a thick layer of dust that clearly hadn’t been touched in ages. To make matters worse, there were visible cobwebs clinging to the chairs. See photos.

It’s hard to enjoy a meal when you’re distracted by how dirty your surroundings are. If this is how little attention they pay to the dining area, I can’t help but wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen.

Until they seriously clean up their act I won’t be coming back, and I’d strongly suggest others think twice before dining here.

I wanted to love this place, but just wasn't blown away. The good was the service was pretty solid and the restaurant is clean and very pretty. Also the Sunumono Salad and the Chicken Yaki Soba were delicious.
Where it fell short was the Sashimi and Rolls. The Tuna was fine, but the Sockeye Salmon had that slightly chewy layer in the middle (I can't explain it any better).
Then the two rolls I ordered were probably the wrong choice. First they were HUGE and nothing special. Also the one said Jalapeño and it was 100% green pepper!

Great garlic chicken wings and rice noodle rolls. The laksa coconut dish is always a favourite. Service is always top of the line. Very consistent in their quality.

Absolutely love this restaurant.
Friendly staff and great cooks.
Love the food and they don't skip out on the protein unlike other establishments.
Try their spin on Phad Thai the Pad Thai with curry sauce
My favorite!
Im going to book now to go there again.
Love sitting in the booth.
