It was my first time visiting, and surprisingly, there were no other customers in the morning. Nothing on the menu really stood out, so I ordered a latte and the French toast. Unfortunately, the latte tasted very watery, and the French toast had that old, frozen bread taste. Not the best first impression.
The prices are fair, service is excellent and the food was fantastic. I ordered the Breakfast regular. The eggs were farm fresh. I'd come back for sure!
We waited almost an hour for them to make two very simple meals. Unacceptably slow. We were commiserating with the table beside us about the wait.
Food was basic.
Disappointed! Wanted to take my mom out for her birthday because she likes the café. In the past, we have had a very good experience of this café. We found ourselves wondering if the café is now under new ownership. The café smelled like egg, service was slow and inattentive, Our order probably took about half an hour to arrive. And then, as we were finishing, they approached us to pay the bill. We had hoped to have some coffee to finish our meal, so it would’ve been nice if they had come around 15-20 minutes before and told us it was last call. That’s my usual experience. So, since there was no option, we accepted the abrupt end to our meal, paid our bill and went on to another café This was irritating since my mom has mobility issues and is very elderly.
How delicious! So glad my mum found this great breakfast restaurant in Ambleside. Excellent, healthy menu choices, kind service and everything was so fresh. We'll be back!
Amazing brunch place!
I enjoyed the eggs benedicts both times I came here but feel I enjoy my potatoes more when they were cubed and pan fried. I think French fries for breakfast or brunch is a mistake. Service is attentive and courteous. It's clearly popular with people. Nice casual atmosphere.
The Turkish breakfast was delicious
So disappointed. The photos online do not represent what I was served. Red flag #1 - It's 11AM, prime brunch time and the place is empty. Spilt a classic benny with my elderly father. French Fries??? We were asked if we would like salad or potatoes. Well, fries are potatoes... coated is some strange yellow?? colour? spice? The hollandaise was straight from the packet or can, not real. Seriously... Quick hollandaise is EASY to make. French fries???? Sorry, can't let go. Attached is a photo what I received, and a photo from their website online of their salmon benny. One benny shared and 2 coffee $30 with tip.

You know what pisses me off more than disappointment? Laziness.
Their menu states they serve Persian "Sangak" bread. They don't.
What is irritatingly stupefying here is that there is a Persian Bakery right across the street from them.
With their approximately 10 seater dining table and 5 staff on hand someone could've done what?.....Yes!...jumped across the street to the bakery and stocked up on the bread they promised the customer on their menu before opening....Or am I just crazy?
Well...I guess if they had done that....they wouldn't have had the time to giggle about it in the back like little school girls. Moving on......
The French Toast -
Undercooked & doughy in the middle. Way too bare and unimpressively lacking in presentation. I mean you're paying for these dishes. I've had my 10 year old nephew make better French Toast.
The bacon was tasty and the coffee was decent....even came in a cute little cup.
So, that's something....
Breakfast Burrito -
Good for an appetizer...Oh wait...it was an entree dish....enough said.
Fancy Benedict -
No, it wasn't fancy...that's the name of the dish ironically.
It was cold, the salmon lacking and clearly someone's first attempt at making a Benny.
The Service -
We had to ask for everything. There was an underlying impatience with our server....like we were keeping her from something. Finally someone else came by with more coffee.
Not the end of the world, but not charming either.
This place reminded me of a first year medical student trying to do brain surgery. Education, Experience, Commitment.
Then open your doors.
Wonderful food very fresh and plentiful without being too much. Quality first.

New owners since I came last. Easily the best brunch in Ambleside. My kids loved their waffles and french toast. Will come back soon!!
