Rolls are more expensive than the average but worth it for the flavours, quality and presentation. I have only ordered the chicken roll but I received friendly service when I came to pick it up, and really enjoyed the food! It is definitely a more elevated Japanese sushi and cuisine. Will most certainly be back to try more things on the menu!

Very long pick up times and staff are not organized and take a long time preparing the order although everything was ready.

We went here for my birthday without reservations. We waited for about 15 min before being seated. Our server was very attentive, and overall service was great. They serve green tea which many Japanese restaurants have stopped doing. The food quality was outstanding, and the dishes were described accurately on the menu. Aburi sushi was beautifully assembled and tasted balanced. No need to use the soy sauce as each roll was full of flavour. Unique items and beautiful presentation ?Vegetarian options: Veggie rolls availableParking: Street parking available on Marine and Bellevue, 18th and 17th streetsWheelchair accessibility: No stairs getting to the entrance and restaurant is on one level

Good looking lunch menu though we opted to try sushi this time! Indoor seating was limited but quite comfortable. For sushi quality and selection/ variety, I would rate them 2- 3 stars.

Raku Japanese Kitchen in West Vancouver is an absolute gem. This restaurant has consistently delivered an outstanding dining experience every time I've visited. The food is not just tasty; it's a culinary delight that leaves your taste buds dancing with joy.Their commitment to using fresh ingredients is evident in every dish. Whether it's the perfectly sliced sashimi or the expertly crafted sushi rolls, you can taste the quality in every bite. But it's not just about the food; the service here is top-notch. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in, and they're always ready to provide recommendations if you're unsure what to order.Raku Japanese Kitchen is not just a restaurant; it's an experience. It's my go-to spot for Japanese cuisine in town, and I can't recommend it highly enough. If you're looking for delicious food, excellent service, and a memorable dining experience, look no further than Raku Japanese Kitchen.

At first glance, you wouldn't think this place is a Japanese restaurant. The interior reflects something more of a cafe, but it's not! It made the experience different than normal, and actually made it stand out. There was chill music playing in the background and it was extremely spacious. The service was also very good as throughout my meal I was constantly being checked on to see if I needed anything.I got the Beef Teriyaki and it was great. It felt like there was a bit of a twist on it as normally I don't get bean sprouts with a teriyaki, but it worked. The beef tasted great with good texture but I wish there was a bit more for the price point. I also got the spicy salmon roll and it was also good, nothing fancy - just your standard roll. I wouldn't consider this my favorite, but it was good enough to where I'd get it again. Overall, I'd definitely come back if I'm in Ambleside. However I'd probably get a different main dish to try out.

ONE rude waitress ruined it. Denied my stroller being in next to the table in the rudest way, almost felt like she was yanking the stroller away. Asked why our set didn't come with miso soup and she said the udon soup is the soup, without the thought crossing her mind that they aren't... the same. Mind you, we got 3 other sets off the SAME lunch menu under the same submenu which ALL came with miso soup. She forgot our utensils after dropping off two sets of food. And when KOREAN was suddenly spoken to her, she suddenly had a change in her vibe, hospitality towards us.The other staff members were fine, but this lady had some beef with us even when it's our first time there. I'm not asking to be treated like royalty, we're reasonable people.Nice washrooms, wish the toilet seat lid stayed up, decent food, dynamite combo is terribly overpriced.

The sushi was great! I’m also getting used to SF prices and I think it was VERY good price for value. We got a lot of us for the four of us. We did the omakase (4 people), a daily special of Hirame, veggie tempura, Snow White roll, salmon hosomaki, a sushi combo and a deluxe chirashi don.Omakase fishes: otoro, toro, salmon belly, bluefin tuna, hamachi, shiraji (might have spelt this wrong), madai- toro was actually my favourite, might just be a preference- I feel like hamachi was soso, but it’s also been going down for yearsDeluxe chirashi: arguably better deal than omakase; fishes: otoro, madai, hamachi, red tuna (May have been bluefin), uni (sea urchin), squid, ikura (salmon fish roe), madai, salmon, cooked shrimp, a mystery fish and prolly other things I forgotSnow White roll: actually it was a rice less option, which we weren’t expecting. Still pretty good though! Makes me think of the Korean haedupbap. They also gave us some tako sunomono on the house!

The menu here does change so come often if you find something you like. I had the raku tower previously and I liked that. Unfortunately it is no longer on the menu. The food here is pretty good. The quality and presentation are there. It can get pretty crowded on weekends. Weekdays are quiet. There is a lunch special menu here. I do find the portion a bit on the smaller side and I find myself hungry very quickly. Service is not that great as the servers don't pay attention to the diners after food is served. It took us many tries before we successfully flagged down a server. And it was only us and another table at that time. It's 4 stars mainly for the good food as this is in west van and there are not that many good Japanese restaurants in the area.

Service was okay they're quick to take the order but sushi didn't all come at once. Slow. When we asked they kept saying it's coming we finished our first two rolls and kept waiting for the 3rd roll. Plenty of room for big parties and street parking. Clean bathrooms and complementary green tea.
