A Memorable Farewell to an Icon We visited the Salmon House as a family — three generations: a six-year-old, an elderly parent, and myself. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal: the crab, crab legs, mussels, candied salmon, and two lobster tails were all outstanding. My parents absolutely loved it, and my child happily tucked into the chicken strips and fries (though we do wish there had been a few more options for kids). I had the salmon served with potatoes and veggies — simple, fresh, and perfectly prepared. We also tried the little oysters, which were delicious. Beyond the food, what really made it special was the atmosphere: the stunning view, the warm wood interior, and the memories we've built here over the years. It's truly sad to see such an iconic place closing, but we hope to return if it reopens in the future. A wonderful meal filled with laughter, nostalgia, and joy — thank you for so many memorable moments.
Service was great. Food was fantastic as always. Really enjoyed the Chef's dessert special!
Last chance to dine at Salmon House. Thank you for the memories. We Enjoyed all meals we had at your Restaurant. Since 1984 your venue provided excellent service to us and our guests. We will miss you.
This was a very romantic date. I haven't been to this restaurant for 25 years. It seemed like time hadn't passed. Everything was just as I remembered! So sorry to see this icon establishment restaurant close. I cherish great memories.
We wanted to experience for one last time before they closed on Saturday, the ambiance, the food, as it has always been, great and delicious
So sad the Salmon House is closing today. It's been a go to place fir over 40years. Progress requires mire housing
Heartbreaking that this fantastic longtime restaurant is closing its doors; bittersweet to have patronized it and the amazing staff one last time
The miso sake sablefish dish was the most delicious sablefish meal I have ever been served, and I love sablefish and eat it often.
Best seafood restaurant in Vancouver sad to see it go
All round great. Shame
They are now closing down - awesome views and the waiter was excellent as usual

We dined here for my sisters 50th birthday dinner. I cannot say enough how extremely disappointing we all were with your food. We’ve dined here a few times, first time yesterday since the pandemic. Wow!! Not sure what changed!
Review on our meals:
Prawn spring rolls - Fair for the rolls but the dressing was supposed to be made with passion fruit which if they didn’t say anything I would not have known.
Salmon Trio - Poor - overcooked, lacked flavour (I had to ask for salt to be able to finish my main course).
Steak (asked to prepare it medium) - Very Poor - we sent it back twice. I’m sorry but clearly the chef does not know how to cook a medium steak. The cut was chewy. Although once we brought it up, we were not charged for it but the whole experience was not pleasant.
Chocolate Lava Cake - Poor - Overcooked, “lava” did not exist. When asked by the waitress why we didn’t finish it, by this point I was not looking for any compensation so I decided not to say anything.
Overall, I was very disappointed. We’ve had pretty amazing food here previously and it was sad to have such a negative experience that has led me to never come back. It’s really too bad as the staff are very lovely, the views amazing and the restaurant has so much potential if only the food can be improved.
Fantastic view! Good for celebration or any special occasions.
The seafood are pretty good. But the steak is a bit dry.
Highly recommended place to visit! Food, services and atmosphere are great! All types of salmon were great, especially the salmon tartare and sweet smoked salmon. The baked cheesecake ravioli were delicious.
Food was unbelievable the atmosphere and the view were amazing. The waiter spilled my wine glass all over my shirt. Didn’t offer to cover the meal or anything and he got an automatic gratuity of $300 not too happy about it.

Have eaten here several times over the last 5 years. Lovely slightly smoky west coast atmosphere, very welcoming on the typical dismal wet evening that is common in this part of the world. This time the food seemed less good than on previous visits to the point of seeming like bad value. Also the server forgot our appetizer, though she was very apologetic about it.
