We had a very disappointing experience at Swad Indian Kitchen during our private gathering. We had made a reservation for the restaurant’s main hall, intending to host approximately 50 guests following a funeral service. Although this incident occurred some time ago, I feel compelled to write a review as a community service to prevent others from making the same errors we did. Our booking was for 3:00 p.m., which would still be considered lunch hours. Despite this, we were informed that we would be charged dinner prices, with the assurance that the assigned hall would be closed to the general public until the regular closing time. We were also assured that we could remain in the restaurant as long as we wished. Several days prior to the event, we placed our order, which included starters, a variety of main dishes, two types of desserts, beverages, coffee, and tea. Regrettably, the number of main dishes on the guests’ tables was significantly less than what we had originally ordered and agreed upon. The main meals were unevenly distributed, and some tables were left without sufficient food. No beverages were served until a few guests approached the kitchen area and requested a few drinks. Many of us never received any water or soda. Hardly anyone was offered any dessert. Furthermore one of the desserts planned and paid for, was never served. Only a handful of guests received tea and coffee. The service was sloppy, rushed, disorganized, and chaotic. The most concerning aspect was how our guests were pressured to leave the restaurant as evening customers were arriving, even though we were promised to stay beyond their usual dinner hours! We approached the manager to express our disappointment, but she was dismissive and refused to take any responsibility. Given that we were mourners, we were not in a receptive mood to pursue resolution and did not even receive a simple apology. What should have been a dignified event turned into an embarrassing one for our family. This experience left us feeling misled, cheated, and lied to, resulting in a significant financial burden and immense embarrassment.

Swad is by far my favouite Indian restaurant on the north shore. The staff are wonderful, and make you feel welcome and vslued. The food is a cut above with more complex layered flavours than most Indian redtaurants. The tandoori dishes are exemplary, especially the fish, which is beautifully seasoned, and never overcooked.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Incredible Late Valentine’s Dinner at Swad!
I visited Swad Indian Kitchen for their Dine The Villages special event, and it was the perfect way to celebrate a late Valentine’s Day.
The Kachumber Salad was a great, fresh start to the meal. For the main courses, the Mango Chicken was absolutely delicious with the perfect hint of sweetness, and the Goan Fish Curry was incredibly flavorful and authentic. Both paired perfectly with the Biryani rice.
Everything was so yummy, and the $45 set menu is a fantastic deal for the quality of food you get in West Vancouver. Highly recommend for a special night out!.

I'm so glad I found this adorable little place.
I love good Indian food.
Unfortunately, there are many average Indian joints but very very few really good ones. This place is one of those.
First of, I love the atmosphere and energy inside. It's perfect for date night or an evening out with close friends.
tastefully decorated, warm ambiance and cozy layout with rocking Feng Shui going on. Nice.
Careful, it you get a window seat you might not wanna leave.
The Veggie Pakoras were splendid. So much flavour, crispy in all the right places and flaky in the centre. Truly what Pakoras are known for...A must piece in an Indian dish.
The Butter Chicken.
Very simple. Once I finished the perfectly cooked chicken, I took the sauce home. Yes, that's how good it was. I couldn't waste it.
The same with the Lamb Hyderabadi. The lamb chunks actually tasted like lamb.....awesome. That famous lamb taste lingering on your palate until you chase it down with their yummy mint yogurt.
Service? First Class.
Honestly, I'm really looking forward to going back for dinner.
Actually excited to try the rest of their fantastic menu.

Biryani is known for its flavours and aroma but one which we had tasted like boiled chicken mixed with coloured rice. No condiments was served (raita) which is very basic with biryani. Haven't tried anything else so cant comment. I will not recommend biryani at this place. Customer service and ambience was top notch. Aisha the hostess was very good at her work and pleasant behaviour.

The daal shorba was simple and soothing. Reshami paneer was a bit on the sweeter side despite us checking with the staff before ordering that it’s not sweet. They gave us some hot sauce to compensate but then they charged us for that too. Quantity of paneer was less based on the price.

The best Indian food I have ever eaten. I travel a lot and this is seriously the best Chicken Tikka and Dahl ever. The staff are lovely, ambience is great but the food is exceptional. I have eaten in my Indian restaurants all over the UK but none compare to Swad. A must visit.
