We went in for dinner on the evening of 6/19/25. The food was average but the service was horrible. We had to wait about 10 mins to place our orders, and once we did, he never brought us cutlery or napkins (we had to ask the another guy who brought us our food for that) he never once came by to ask how everything was and didn’t clear the table afterwards. To top it off we waited another 10 minutes to get our bill. Worst waiter we’ve come across in a long time, so we won’t return.

Was there on Fri June 13 before 12 I believe, ordered the Sierra salad and crispy sushi, both was good but the sushi rice was too mushy but everything else was good, the service at the end wasn't as good. understand it's Friday and my server disappeared for abit, she finally came after a long period of time.

Located in the Park Royal village, this tap house is wonderful. Went to watch the Oilers, and even though they lost, we had the best experience here. Food was very good, I found it surprising how good it was for a pub. The service was excellent, checking on us frequently and extremely polite. Will definitely come back.

Good food, lousy service. We've been going there every couple of weeks for a while now, but last Saturday (yes I acknowledge that it was busy) we had to wait forever to get the waiter's attention. We would have liked to order more but I'm not waiting close to half an hour to even be asked. We've been served by this guy before. We'll go back eventually but I decline to sit in his section again.

Vancouver craft beer tour, part 2! Located in North Vancouver's beautiful shopping area, this restaurant doubles as a sports bar with elegantly arranged seating. Happy hour is from 14:00 to 17:00 every day. Lager is $5. I didn't order food and just had beer, but I was surprised at how delicious it was! ️ The bitterness that comes after the freshness is the best feeling, and I knew it was delicious from the first bite!

This restaurant was once my top choice for every occasion, and we visited nearly weekly. However, over time, I’ve noticed a troubling decline in service, with several recent reviews echoing my concerns—particularly regarding unprofessional and discourteous behavior from the staff.
While I can’t say for certain, I’ve sometimes wondered if this poor treatment was related to our appearance or accent, or if certain guests are intentionally seated in less desirable areas, despite plenty of open space in more central parts of the restaurant. These issues ultimately led to our decision to stop visiting the Village Taphouse.
Tonight, I gave it another chance, hoping for an improved experience. Unfortunately, the service was once again disappointing, with the server's dismissive attitude leaving us feeling unwelcome. Despite ample seating in a more central area, we were directed to a far corner, which felt both frustrating and uninviting.
On a positive note, the food and drinks remain excellent and are well worth the visit—earning a solid 5-star rating. However, the service needs significant improvement. I urge management to focus on staff training to elevate the customer experience. It’s unfortunate to see a place I once loved fall short, but with attention to service, I remain hopeful it can return to its former standard.
The food was absolutely fantastic! Service was amazing! There was a football game on so it was a bit loud... but the whole experience was incredible!

Update: another great visit… We had a wonderful time at the Taphouse this Tuesday November 26th and as always the service, the food and the company was perfect. Dylan, our server, was outstanding and made the visit even more special for the five of us old timers! Thanks Dylan. We will of course be back again and again!!
Village Taphouse never disappoints! We have been here for lunch several times with our ladies group and have never had a bad meal. Service is always very friendly and on point. A few of us tried the Sierra Salad this time and it was sooo good. Thanks once again for a welcoming, comfortable venue for us to have our get togethers!

We enjoyed the food here, we ordered the potato skins as a starter, the bolo along with the noodle bowl for the main course and the brownie for dessert, all were nice with rich flavours. The brownie might just be a bit too sweet for some people, but still quite enjoyable with the vanilla ice cream. This is a shame because the service was not satisfactory at all, our server barely visited our table all night, we never got our water refilled, and had to call someone for each detail because no one checked in. She just kept looking over with the card reader in her hands waiting for us to leave. The started arrived with the food even though we specifically asked for it to be brought in separately. So by the time we had finished the starter, our main course had gotten cold. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed the food and the vibe, but the service was really disappointing.

An overall great dining experience. The hostess was quick to get our table ready and get us seated. Samantha, our server was great...very attentive and friendly. The beer, of course, is always good, and i appreciate the varied selection. The food was delicious (I had the Malibu Club with fries), if a little sparse. Don't get me wrong, it was plenty of food for me (too much food ruins my buzz 😅), but I would appreciate a better value. A small gripe in a suffering economy. Thanks for everything! I'll be back.
