New Pizza Hut Pop-Up Fits Just One Customer at a Time
Pizza Hut announced on October 16 that it's launching a phone booth-sized pop-up restaurant in New York City. The restaurant will celebrate its iconic six-inch Personal Pan Pizza while showcasing new toppings.
The mini-restaurant, dubbed the Personal Pan Pizza Hut, will open its doors in Astoria, Queens, on October 22 and 23. It's designed to transport customers back to the classic Pizza Hut experience, complete with the signature red-roof style, Tiffany-style lamps, and those memorable red checkered tablecloths.

"We're not just serving pizza—we're reimagining how our guests can experience the Personal Pan Pizza in an innovative, modern, and, of course, personalized way," said Melissa Friebe, Pizza Hut's U.S. chief marketing officer.
The popup arrives amid heated competition in the pizza market. Earlier this month, Domino's CEO Russell Weiner claimed his chain was "winning" the pizza wars, emphasizing the importance of value in today's market.
Pizza lovers can expect to try new toppings introduced this summer, including Pesto Swirl, Spicy Sauce, Chicken Sausage, Fresh Diced Garlic, and Caramelized Onion. Each guest gets their own private dining space to customize and enjoy their personal pizza creation.
This isn't Pizza Hut's first attempt to tap into nostalgia. Last year, the company released merchandise featuring their iconic lamp design as hats and brought back The Big New Yorker pizza after a 20-year break.
Reservations opened on Tock from October 17 at noon ET. The popup will operate on October 22 from 3-5 p.m. and October 23 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET, with spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The initiative follows Pizza Hut's recent creative moves, including their September campaign to help job seekers by printing resumes on pizza boxes for free delivery to employers in New York City.
