I’ve been to plata a couple times before and it’s always been really good! We all started with margaritas- I got one with muddled strawberries and mint. The flavor was very light and refreshing. I also got the short rib enchiladas that came with a red sauce and a side of cheesey cauliflower. The red sauce was actually a little spicier than anticipated but still really good. The green rice was a nice pairing with it. My aunt got the chicken enchiladas with green sauce which is always a classic. My brother got the burrito which was delicious and very big- he only ate half and took the rest home. I don’t know what it was called on the menu but my dad got some sort of steak which was smothered in cheese and other toppings served with rice and beans- very good!! Lastly my brothers fiance got the ceviche and chile relleno. She ate all the ceviche so I’m assuming it was delicious and is served with a tostada tortilla on the bottom. The chili relleno was good too. Very good portion sizes ! The service was good as well and the chips and salsa are delicious we couldn’t get enough!

Went in for cocktails and appetizers. Ordered and received them. Was going to order dinner but the server never returned. We had to ask another server for her, then after 20 minutes of no one coming to our table we decided to just get the check and go. More time passes and still no one comes to our table. Asked the hostess for our check. After 10 minutes went back to the hostess and asked for the manager, and was told, "he's in the back, but I just told your server." Hostess, please note, when a guest who's already waited a ridiculous amount of time and is visibly upset by the lack of service and asks to speak to the manager, you should probably get him/her. Also, if you order the guacamole, dont look under the tortilla on the bottom. Underneath it was old vegetable scraps that were brown...they put it there to make the bowl look fuller...disgusting.

Plata Taqueria & Cantina is a jewel; if you want to eat like champion should, there’s a clear choice you should head to this establishment. The Mexican food here is done their way and exquisitely executed so if you think you know a dish well from past experiences elsewhere be aware that here, the food is unique yet nonetheless superb.

Our courteous server Denis brought us warm tortilla chips with flavorful fresh salsa and continuously provided more after he noticed we appreciated them. We had both types of guacamole and the corn appetizer, accompanied by the chips Denis kept providing. It was a pleasure to meet Fernando the General Manager as he made rounds at the restaurant assuring every table received world class service.

When our food arrived the temperature was excellent and the flavor spectrum diverse and luscious. Our party ordered the Enchiladas Aztecas, Chamorro, Tuna Ceviche, and Chicken Mole; everything looked so amazing we requested extra plates so that we could all share and none of the dishes came close to basic as each dish provided exciting stimulation to our taste buds.

As far as our drinks were concerned the strawberry margarita was unlikely no other as the fruit and mint combination with sugar was just right, the soda pop crisp, beer icy cold, and the water pleasant.

What a relief to eat dinner with access to the Dodger visible through one of their various large screen televisions in the bar area while sitting on comfortable luxurious arm chairs and our beautiful and spotless wooden table.

Overall everyone from the smiling and amiable hostess to the genuinely attentive Manager Fernando were a pleasure to share the dinner experience, and we also appreciate the large windows that let us peer into the kitchen as we watch our food being prepared giving added security that you’re receiving top notch attention.

We ordered meals that were disappointing. One dish was served in a dented, nonstick frying pan with no sides, and the other dish was plated in a more eye pleasing manner but was underwhelming and oversalted. The service was attentive and friendly however the dinner was subpar and not satisfactory.
