If I could give C'Era Una Volta Kitchen & Catering 10 stars, I would without hesitation! From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with the kind of warmth and hospitality that only a true Italian gentleman like Rudy, the owner, can provide. Meeting Rudy was a highlight in itself—he's not just passionate about his craft, but also genuinely cares about his customers' experience.

But let’s talk about the food because it’s nothing short of spectacular. I put my trust in Rudy and let him choose my lunch, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. He crafted a salad with toast points
that were both fresh and flavorful with fresh Mozzarella and tomatoes with a balsamic dressing that was amazing, setting the stage for the main event: ravioli with a meat sauce that was simply out of this world. Every bite was a testament to Rudy’s dedication to authentic, high-quality Italian cuisine.

The service was impeccable, the atmosphere cozy and inviting, and the food—oh, the food! Rudy is an absolute gem, and his restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food and an even greater dining experience. This place is an instant favorite, and I can't wait to return! It's a small space for dining in but worth the out-of-the-box experience.

I dined here years ago and I’m so glad to know that it’s still up and running. I vividly remember the fantastic gnocchi and amazing tiramisu. I hope to revisit here when I am ever back in the area.

Great food! Loved the fresh salads, side veggies and saffron rice full of veggies. It was a different feel from the delivery we've received from other places lately. It just felt good eating healthy, well cooked food. Great communication and professional staff. They didn't have the dessert on the menu and called to ask me what I preferred. We ate every bite. Bravo! ??

I was curious about why an Italian restaurant was showing up as being inside Bladium so I had to see! Was really glad I did, they do delivery and takeout and cater as well. Picked up an order to-go and got raviolis and a pizza with some profiteroles as dessert. I didn’t have to wait long and the staff were so kind. They explained they had lost their main location on Park St. during Covid. Everything was delicious and the Gorgonzola pizza was especially tasty!! It was great to pick up some beers from Almanac to go with the meal too, very convenient. Will definitely be back!

The filling become pumpkiny-delicious and now not too sweet. And It turned into such a satisfaction to be offered a GF pasta dish that wasn’t penne.

Yesterday was the first time we went to this place. But It is surely not the last. We passed a splendid evening with the generous service, with the magnificent meal and booze and with the modest charge. We will no doubt visit there in a short time.

I'm from Italy (have lived in Philadelphia for 20 years), and I was in Alameda in 2015 for a friend's wedding. I happened upon this place, and what a joy! Not only is the owner (who ended up at our table, where we had a lovely conversation) Livornese (I'm from Tirrenia, a province of Pisa), but the food was incredible, AND he knew a number of people that I knew! It's been five years, and I really want to go back some day. BOIA! CHE GIOIA!

We were meant to be in Italy. Obviously not a substitute but the food is great and the owners friendly. And two three course meals for $35 pick up.
