Came here with a friend who knows that I like trying out unique flavors. This little discreet ice cream shop nestled in Alameda was small but had a lot to offer. They had super interesting flavors : match Oreo, animal cookie, pandan coconut, Dan tat (!), calamansi, durian and more. I have tried many Asian flavored ice creams, but find most of them are lacking in flavor or leaning more on vanilla or creamy tones to make them more palatable for folks unfamiliar with them. I, however, want my ice cream to taste exactly like Durian or Ube if that's how it is labeled, not a toned down version. This place delivers on that because you're getting exactly what you imagined with no punches pulled. The Dan tat (egg tart) flavor especially blew my mind because I have not ever seen this flavor offered before, it's one of my favorite nostalgic treats from childhood and it tasted exactly like an egg tart. I did end up getting matcha Oreo instead because I was in the mood for something not too sweet and the authentic bitterness in the matcha was the perfect solution. My friend got the animal cookie and it was a perfect rendition of the cookie itself. The workers were nice and tolerant of us trying out a few different samples which is how I know everything was super flavorful. My only critique is that the size of the scoop and quality of the ice cream itself could be improved a notch, but I'm used to Gunther's in sacramento so it's hard to compare.

I got the Jasmine ice cream and it was perfectly balanced between sweet and floral. I also tried the matcha Oreo and it was good. Only con is street parking.

I've been here twice so far, as I like some of their standard flavors and it's a nice treat for when I'm in Alameda. The staff are generous and patient with me sampling multiple flavors. The first time I went, I got a double of jasmine milk tea and Thai tea. It costs an extra $0.50 to get two flavors for a single or four flavors for a double. It was dense and thick very rich and I think they do a good job at tea flavors in ice cream. They do have some unconventional flavors too like a lao gan ma. The second time, I got a kids scoop jasmine milk tea and Hong Kong milk tea. I think this is a great shop to go to if you like some less common flavors and enjoy a creamier/smoother texture for ice cream.

Favorite ice cream shop in Alameda. Good variety of Asian flavors-the black sesame and daan tat are my favorite. The black sesame is rich with a bold sesame flavor while the daan tat has an eggy flavor with flaky crust chunks. They also serve split scoops. I only wish they had waffle cones as their only cone options are cake and sugar cone. There isn't much seating-only a small bench infront, but it's easy to grab as to-go and walk along Webster.

Great ice cream. In the past I tried the black sesame and Thai tea. Thai tea was more like a decadent version of the drink, and the black sesame was fantastic. The flavor you expected andn the right sweetness. Presently tried the Pandan coconut and strawberry oreo. The scooper was also nice enought to ask which flavor should be on the bottom of a double scoop. This was the stronger strawberry oreo. Because if you left the pandan coconut, it would easily be overpowered by the stronger strawberry flavor. When I arrived after 8:30, the Don Tat flavor was all out. So I will have to return for Don tat, durian and banana oreo!

The non-dairy options are disappointing. The menu doesn’t match the actual selection. First time I tried one of the non-dairy items it had large ice crystals. Thesecond time I was served something I did not order. When I asked about it, the person said they were out of what I had ordered. No offer of a refund was made. Why would you serve me something I did not order without asking ? The item was non dairy, so I had a taste it was sickly sweet and gave me a stomach ache with 2 small bites. I had bought my friend a dairy ice cream too. She said it was OK. I won’t be coming back. I don’t recommend this for non-dairy options.Dietary restrictions: Not good

It was a fun visit to Alameda to see the Pinball Museum. I got mango stick rice single scoop with cake cone as usual. The mango sticky flavor was original and fun.

This ice-cream shop is probably the go-to place to anyone in Alameda. We were visiting for a group trip and stumbled upon this place. They have very unique flavors and the service was amazing!Warning: Don’t eat this ice-cream right before eating lunch or you won’t be able to eat any! The ice-cream is just too sweet!Parking: We parked pretty far and had to walk to get food, which is how we found this place.

Cookiebar Scoop Shop is cute and dainty ice cream parlor with some absolutely incredible and unique ice cream flavors! We loved that they had very Asian-forward flavors, so unlike any other ice cream place we've been to. Everything sounded so good, we couldn't decide on what to get! So you know we had to sample pretty much almost every flavor lol. We ended up getting these three: + Dan Tat (egg tart) -- Probably one of the best ice creams I have ever eaten, 10/10. + Matcha Oreo -- That classic oreo flavor with the creaminess and kick of caffeine from the match, 8.5/10. + Banana Oreo -- The hubby got this one and he enjoyed it a lot! 8/10. Honorable mentions include: Mango sticky rice (10/10), and Hong Kong Milk Tea (8/10). We appreciated the service from the young men working that day. We asked to try a lot of the flavors, and they were so patient with us. Not much seating area besides a bench right outside the shop and a few barstools along the sidewalk. Still, such a cute place to get yummy ice cream and snap a few pics! Will be returning here soon for my dan tat and mango sticky rice fix!

Went in for the first time today, and it was great! The flavors are definitely unique if you’re looking to try something new. I got the Thai Iced Tea flavor, and i would definitely recommend it! The service was fast and the girl who took my order was very kind and helpful.

If you’re in the East Bay and have a thing for ice cream, this is your spot. It’s where I find the most unique flavors, like Filipino Calamansi and the standout Dan Tat, which is essentially Chinese egg custard turned into ice cream. It’s perfectly buttery without being overly sweet – so good that I often treat myself to a whole pint. The Avocado flavor is another winner, reminding me of a lush avocado milkshake. Sure, there’s usually a line, but the wait is a small price to pay for these generous, well-priced scoops. With outdoor seating available, it’s a great place to unwind with a treat. Whether you’re a fellow local or just visiting, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You’ll thank me later!
