I was looking for chow mein with thick noodles like a place i ate at in nevada. I googled and found this place through yelp recommendations. I enjoyed my chow mein so much and it was plentiful for the price! I see myself being a regular here. :-)

I heard about Elaine's from a family member who recommended it based almost purely on how sweet and friendly Elaine is. A couple days later I saw her restaurant highlighted in a town post on Instagram about supporting our local Asian business owners during this horrific AAPI hate spree. We ordered last night and Elaine absolutely lived up to her friendly title. She offered extra homemade chili sauce and when she accidentally gave us something extra we didn't order, she called to tell us what it was so we wouldn't be confused and asked how we liked the food. The food was WONDERFUL. It was so flavorful! The potstickers had a nice light/thin wrapper and the homemade chili sauce was so good! The lemon chicken wasn't overly fried and had a really strong lemon taste which is hard to find. Loved this place! Excited to have a new go to for Chinese.

Order the wonton with chilli sauce & beef with chilli out. Amazingly good! I initially didn't have any expectations because it was late. Want some Szechwan food because of the crazy allergies this week. I first was skeptical once I ordered, but it turned out good

Amazingly good Chinese food in the heart of Alameda. Fresh ingredients and great preparation.

I had a bad experience. My online order was not processed properly. When I went to pick up, the items I wanted to order were not available (no chicken). It seems like they are not able to handle the demand at this time. Too bad! I wanted to try.

Waited 1.5 hours for my food then the restaurant canceled my order. Super disappointed. I will not try again

My wife and I moved to Alameda in October and have been slowly trying out all the restaurants in the area. Last night, we ordered delivery from Elaine's and we have to say -- this will now be our go-to spot for Chinese takeout! Everything we ordered was delicious, but the General's chicken was my favorite -- plenty of flavor and just the right amount of crunch, sauce, and spice.

Finally, spicy and tasty Chinese in Alameda and at great prices to boot. Our first visit. Favorite so far was the Yu Shiang shredded pork. Tons of food. Good quality meat with mushrooms and bamboo shoots for great texture. Spiced perfectly. This is definitely on the rotation.

I just have to mention in an update.....the Salt n Pepper Chicken Wings are excellent. Just 6 pieces, but they are heavy and meaty. And the batter flavor is very close to the taste of the old fashioned fried chicken they used to sell by the tray full in San Francisco Chinatown. Spiced up with a dose of heat, Elaine's Chicken Wings are good. I asked about indoor dining - since the restaurant is small, they won't open up for indoor dining until they are allowed 100% capacity. So takeout only for now.

I had read good things about Elaines and just gave it a try a few days ago. I really enjoyed it. W head the pineapple chicken which was excellent. The fried combo was also quite good. The food quality is very well done, and you also get a lot for a good price. I also really enjoyed chatting with Elaine. She is very friendly and seems to be committed to having a well connected local joint. Though we just did take out. It looks like there will be some nice small seating options when things open up. A great spot to go before catching a movie on Park.

Szechuan Chicken is amazing! I'm so glad to find this restaurant that's close by, has great food, and reasonable prices (and they're open late). This will definitely be one of our go-to take out restaurants when we're too tired to cook.

This was my first time ordering from Elaine's. I decided to give it a try reading all the positive reviews here and on Nextdoor. I ordered 2 entreés: Spicy diced chicken (szechuan chicken) & Mongolian chicken. Spicy diced chicken (szechuan chicken) : I was expecting the dish to be more like the dish we normally order from another place which is usually fried chicken pieces with hot & sweet sauce. But boy I was wrong. My bad. I should have asked while ordering. The dish was dry and full of red chili peppers. It was more of peppers and less of chicken (check my pic). I spent good 15mins picking out the chilli pepper pieces and what was left was lil bit of chicken pieces. It definitely was super duper spicy but it was flavorful. But I am definitely not ordering it again. If you can't handle the heat, skip it. Mongolian chicken: It was good and flavorful. But I expected more of chicken pieces and less of onions. It was the other way around. But overall, the dishes were flavorful and I'll be back to try more.

Came here with my Girlfriend last week wanting to try a new Chinese restaurant in Alameda. As soon as we arrived to the ordering counter we were greeted and treated like Family! The owner has great customer service. Her friendliness and warmth is refreshing. Ordered the Family deal and we enjoyed it very much! Definitely fresh ingredients, above average taste. The Mongolian beef was super tasty and spicy (like I like it!) We will definitely be back!
