This restaurant is across the street from where I've play league pinball on Wednesday nights for the past two years. While it's convenient in location, I've hesitated to try it because the yelp ratings haven't been inspiring. Last night, because we had just arrived home from a long drive and we needed dinner before pinball, we decided to give it a try. We walked in separately because I had to handle a phone call first. I can't stand when people hold telephone conversations at the table, When I entered, I was greeted loudly though I'm not sure exactly what they said. Menus had already been presented. We were asked what we might like to drink and we both ordered hot tea. Because the weather was cold, we ordered a starter of: Assorted Tempura - (2) - It came with two prawns, two slices of carrot and then one each of Bell Pepper Ring, Kobocha Pumpkin, Broccoli, Sweet Potato and Zucchini. She ordered: Seafood Yosenabe - (2) - There was quite an assortment of seafood and some veg. It was hot and filling although a bit sweeter than we would have liked. It appeared that some type of sugar had been added instead of straight seafood broth. I ordered: Three-Item Bento Box - (2) - Chicken Teriyaki, California Roll, Sashimi. It also came with Miso Soup, Salad, Potato Salad and a slice of Orange. Overall the food was passable but there was nothing special about any of it. I was disappointed that my sashimi consisted for four slices of Maguro, my least favorite fish after Mackerel. My fault that I hadn't asked first. It would have been nice to get two slices of Maguro along with two slices of Hamachi or Salmon.The Chicken was a bit dry. Service was okay up to the point that our food arrived. After that, our server only stopped by once to add tea to our cups and then to drop off our bill. The prices were reasonable but this will be a one and done visit for us.

Last Monday evening we decided on this restaurant. After ordering and receiving our drinks we ordered our food. Nothing fancy, actually pretty simple. We waited about 20 -25 minutes for our food, as other customers came in after us and were immediately receiving their orders. When we inquired as to what was taking so long, the waitress with an attitude actually said "I don't Know" and pranced onto another table. I've been to this joint many times in the past and couldn't believe the treatment of this evening. It was not crowded, there were enough waitresses prancing through taking care of everyone else but our table. Not once did they check on us as we waited. We almost walked out that evening, decided against it... will never walk in there again to be treated so poorly. By the way, the food was so~so nothing to write home about... Just wanted to get this off my mind... Happy New Year~

This placed used to be so great but came here for dinner recently and it wasn't how it used to be. I would come twice a month with a friend of mine for a dinner dates and we would rave to everyone about how delicious their food was. Unfortunately I'm not sure if it's under new management or what the case may be but the food definitely tastes different, sort of rushed in a sense... we didn't even come in while it was busy. Such a let down. I'm hoping it was just the recent visit but it was all across the board.

This is the best sushi I've ever had hands down. The ambience and decoration are great. The staff are extremely polite and friendly. I come here very often with my family so they know us, and trust me, if you tasted their sushi, you're probably become a regular customer too. The sushi is always fresh. They have the option of real crab or imitation. The bathrooms are very clean and spacious. Don't worry about anything. Just try it, you will not be disappointed.

Easy to see right off of Webster Street servicing Alameda and the adjoining areas of California. Parking on the Street is available but it fills up fast especially at night and on the weekends. Moderately clean facilities. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. Give it a try and you decide.

Pretty solid sushi. I've been resistant to try this place out because it always looked expensive from the outside but after giving it a try, its not as bad as I thought. The sushi is pretty averagely priced. I was able to get 3-4 rolls for around 40 bucks which isn't too bad. I also got a platter of assorted tempura that was pretty good. I tried this place for the first time when it was about an hour till closing and I say that to say, the rice tasted a little old but it could have also just been the end of the day. Over all I was satisfied with my experience but also relatively underwhelmed by the food which most likely because I had built this place up to be super fancy in my head for months. With that being said, the inside is actually really nice and the service itself is really good. Everyone was super friendly. I would go again for the service alone.

Great food, professional and friendly staff. The menu even had dishes that don't traditionally appear in U.S. sushi restaurants. I would definitely eat here again.

I love good ramen and tonight I was at Yojimbo but my friends didn't want to wait so we tried this place. The lack of customers should have been a sign but I was hungry and saw they offered a Spicy Ramen special. It was literally packaged Top Ramen with some egg and green onion added, for $13. The waitress was honest enough to confirm this when I asked. Total rip-off.
