Wow! I got a strawberry matcha milkshake. It was the best milkshake I've ever had. Thanks to Tom for being patient and kind even with a long line. The ice cream and hospitality speaks for itself!

Thought the kids would have a good time enjoy some ice cream after dinner since I used to come here when I was younger but the lady working the counter changed my attitude no smile or warm welcome would rather go to park st .

I tried their seasonal pistachio flavor and my partner got the mint chocolate chip flavor. Mint chocolate chip was really great! I love the many flecks of chocolate vs. big chunks of chocolate. Pistachio was ok, it had whole pieces of pistachio, but I think mint chocolate chip won out here. Will definitely be back!

The space inside was really cute and there was plenty of seating inside of it and right outside of the shop. They had some candies and things you can also buy along with the ice cream. The customer service was really good. I tried three types of ice cream flavors in the sugar cones: cookies and cream, almond toffee, and sea salt carmel. The sugar cone itself was good. The ice cream itself was creamy and had a good texture. However, in my opinion all of the flavors had a banana flavor to them. They didn't have a lot flavor or things mixed in. I personally, wouldn't need to eat their ice cream again.

Was looking for some cheap eats this evening in the South Shore Center, and aside from the burger place, there wasn't much else to choose from besides treating myself to ice cream for dinner! I came away with a single scoop waffle cone and left quite happy. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean and bright!

There’s ice cream amazing but you see only one person work. there’s big line every day and very slow to prepare it I wonder why the owner can’t hire employee poor woman I feel sad seeing her working by herself .

They are better here than Baskin Robin's by any measure. The ONLY reason I gave them a missing star is because I hold every ice cream to the standard of Marianne's in Santa Cruz which is Gordon Ramsay, top tier, 5 out of 5 ice cream for flavor and texture. This ice cream is just not perfect but closer to Gelato than most major brands.

2265 S Shore Ctr Alameda, CA 94501 (behind Applebee's) Loard's Ice Cream has been serving quality ice cream, shakes, and sundaes in Alameda for decades. When I was a little kid growing up in Alameda, there was a Loard's Ice Cream at Southshore. It had a better location before, now it's tucked away down a walkway just pass Applebee's. I got off work early the other night, and stopped by to try their coffee and chocolate mint ice cream. As you walk thru the door, it's like crossing into a time warp. The old fashioned decor conjures up old memories (real or imagined) of a playful world. So I stepped up to the counter, and surveyed the flavors posted on the wall. Only one person was on duty, and service was quick and prompt. 1 scoop Coffee, 1 scoop Chocolate Mint I would say these were two medium sized scoops for $6.95 Overall, this is a fair price for good quality, dense and rich ice cream. It has no after taste, and it's not watery. There's several choices for ice cream and frozen yogurt in Alameda, but do you want to drive there? Loard's Ice Cream is in the Southshore Shopping Center. Between Trader Joes and Applebee's there's a walkway. Loard's is down that walkway, on the rightside, just pass Applebee's. Free parking and near bus stops. Drop by and Support this Long Time Alameda business!

I was just putzing around, waiting to go to dinner and came across Loards. I'm sure it's been here forever; but as someone new to the area, I had never been. They have a lot of cute little knickknacks so you can spend some time looking at those. There was a young male attendant that was really nice. He answered the few questions I had. I got the banana ice cream, as the attendant let me know that it was a real banana flavor and not artificial. It was delicious. So delicious. I shall return, probably sooner than later.
