Service was very slow. Our party of 4 was served separately and all had our food/meals at different times. Place was freezing cold. Food was just 'OK', and at time of payment the bill the server just about demanded a tip!

Tom khra gai was weird. It wasn't creamy white, chicken fat floaters, and lemongrass was brown. Sweet and sour fish was the worst, almost likeit was cooked in premade sauce. Just not worth it.

We used to love coming here before there was like a new management change or something, because food was not the same, there was barely anyone working, and the lady that was working was extremely rude to the cooks. She was screaming at them the entire time asking if they understood the words coming out of her mouth bc the cooks working behind the line were hispanic. After experiencing this, i knew i wasnt coming back again. I do not respect places that do not treat or talk to their workers with respect and kindness. Maybe she was overwhelmed bc she was the only one taking orders and serving food but regardless, thats not the way.
Food was mediocre. Definitely not authentic thai food. Coming from a thai person herself.

The pad Thai here is very good, loaded with a bunch of meats and veggies, appetizers like the wings are very juicy and flavorful, but that's not all they also have wine!

After going to the shopping mall a friend and I decided to give this place a try and we were so pleased that we have decided to come back soon.
What was super pleasing was the portion of tofu in our meal. We both noticed that most Thai restaurants are stingy with tofu but not Monkey Thai.

I stumbled upon this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised! Make sure to try the yellow curry and the jasmine rice – it's excellent! The set lunch menu is also excellent and very reasonably priced!

Monkey Thai has a friendly, warm vibe with kind, attentive service and orchids decorating the space. We had pad thai, pumpkin curry and yellow curry, all were very good and presented nicely with orchids on the plate. Bonus that you can walk across the street to south shore.

They were out of several items that my group was interested in ordering. The items were a bit salty.
It was my birthday and I chose this restaurant 🙄

If it was just mediocre Thai food, I would have no problem. I found pieces of a plastic film on the Tom Ka soup, and one of the shrimps on the Pad Thai was so completely off that I stopped my party from eating anything else.
The place was maybe 1/10 full, however the service was slow and despondent. When I complained about the quality of the meal, the person told me that they could comp the soup and that the manager was not in until the weekend. I refused the comp, the money is not worth them feeding us bad quality food.

Friendly Service. Food served quickly. Very DELICIOUS. Always eat there when I have an Eye Exam which is across the Street.
I usually abide by the principle of if there’s nothing nice to say, don’t say it, but I’ve had more than one bad experience with the restaurant. Primarily with ordering food online through their website and picking it up.
There was one time when I ordered, went to the restaurant to pick it up, and was informed my order was not ready by the quoted time. I ordered a chicken noodle soup, but it was not made because the order apparently did not go through or they did not receive a notification.
The second time was for a Pad See Ew. One item and I waited nearly an hour. I went to the restaurant by the estimated waiting time, then was told it would take another 10 minutes. 10 minutes ended up being 25. In fact, from what I saw, the restaurant was not too busy, some empty tables.
I understand that restaurants are facing staffing shortages, multiple customers are being served, etc. The restaurant is doing their best, but as a customer, I would appreciate more transparency.
That on top of the food not being the best makes me compelled to give this place low ratings… it’s on the blander side. The items Ive tried, the chicken noodle soup, larb, stir fry noodles don’t have as many complex spices and flavors Ive preferred as I’ve had in Thailand.
I primarily come because of convenience and if I need my fix for Thai food, but the negative experiences I’ve had probably will deter me from coming back.
