The food was perfect! The owner came out to chat and make sure we had everything we needed. Definitely coming back again!

My favorite Chinese take-out in Alameda! Joanne at Orchid Pavillon is so kind and this spot is a staple when we don’t know what to get. My family typically orders beef chow mein, chicken fried rice, broccoli beef, and the walnut prawns. I recently had a party and got last minute catering with Orchid Pavilion for delivery (I was out of a car for a while), and they were able to accommodate and deliver in such a timely manner! All my friends raved at all the food and said everything was so good. We even got fried wontons that were a hit! My favorite about Orchid is the vegetables stay crispy and is not overwhelmed with the sauce of the dishes- which I love. The ambiance of the spot is very much take-out style, without much seating inside. Since COVID, they had a table set up right at the door where you can order and pick up, but now you can walk in! I really love this spot, Joanne, and all the staff at this establishment. If you have an itch for Chinese takeout, give Orchid Pavilion a shot! You can call in for pick-up (usually the quickest), or just order at the store and wait a few minutes for your food :)
I staff was very friendly , Pop corn chicken was super flavorful lightly fried but still had a perfect crunch. Definitely recommend this spot and when ever I’m in alameda again I’ll be

Food is excellent. We get the salt and pepper fish fillets each time. Everything else we have had is solid. But the fish is to die for. Lightly fried, large chunks of fish. Yum.

I have lived all over the country and in many parts of the bay areaI can say without reservation that the Orchid Pavillion is the best Chinese food in California and probably the country. One of the many secrets Alameda has to offer. Delivery ot take out only but you won't forget this gem that outshines them all. We over order so we have lots of leftovers. Combination chow mein, sweet and sour pork (which I gave up ordering years before now, soups, sausage fried rice and even the egg rolls are to die for.San Francisco has nothing on this place.

This is one of our go-to places. The food is always fresh and the service is amazing. Current favorites are Salt & Pepper Prawns and Orange Chicken, but we've never had anything that wasn't great. And there's alway enough for at least a second meal. I highly Orchid Pavillion!
Fast and friendly delivery. Highly recommend the Szechuan chicken. Will definitely order from here again!
Delicious food, charming attentive staff, spotlessly clean restaurant! We had the honey, and walnut prawns and what we loved about them was how flavorful they were without being too sweet. We also had the salt & pepper chicken wings, also very yummy.
I recently visited Orchid Pavilion Cafe in Alameda and had the most delicious Chicken Kung Pao lunch special. Not only was it affordable, but there was plenty left over for dinner too! The service was outstanding and the ambiance was lovely. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for tasty, authentic Chinese food. I will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you Orchid Pavilion Cafe for a fantastic experience!
I was ordering for my party of 3.All of a sudden the person behind the counter answers the phone. She starts taking a phone order without saying a word to me.We all walk out. Now we're outside and she comes running out. I explained to her that she answer the phone ans ignored us. Her response was, "I'm ready now!" We were ready when we were ordering. Will never step foot in there again.

Spectacular Chinese food. Seriously, the Salt and Pepper fish, so perfectly crispy and seasoned. The Hot and Sour soup is the best I've ever had-- it's stuffed full of all the goodies with a fantastic sour and flavorful broth. My last fav on the menu is the Kimchi Fried Rice... faaaaantastic. It's got nice spam chunks in there surrounded by beautifully seasoned rice. The best spot on the island hands-down!
The walnut prawns and garlic noodles were really good! The customer service is also excellent.
It’s good but not great.I love the customer service. They cook every dish fresh and not in the same pan as other orders. The tofu was over battered. Comes with the sauce on the side to keep it crispy. Ordered over the phone and you pick it up at the front.
Everywhere they have it posted that they are open until 9pm. I stood in line at 750 while the operator continued her conversation with the previous customer. I'm parient. But once I got to the window she just walked off without saying anything. I'm patient, she has a business to run. As I start to tell her my order she rudely yelled at me "we're closed, we closed at 8. It's literally 8:06 as I'm writing this. I have never eaten at this place and I don't ever plan on going back. If she hadnt stood there carrying on while I was waiting in line she could have taken my order. All I wanted was an appetizer. Simple. But instead she shoved me off. I guess they don't need the business. Thats fine. I dont need that cholesterol.
I often take my friends to this restaurant with my highest recommendations. I visit this place often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The the food there is flavorable and the crew is generous and cooperative. Whenever we visit this place we have a splendid evening. I recommend this place with pleasure.
