Great selection of food for everyone. We had a picky little, a vegan mama and a nigiri lover and we were all satisfied. Good amount of food for the price. Biggest bento box this side of the bay! Highly recommend you call ahead and reserve a table, they get pretty busy for dinner.

If a classic nigiri pair such as tamago costs more that $5, it is a good enough sign for you to run away. You deserve something better.

This is the original sushi spot in Alameda. If you are a Bay Area native then you been here since high school. The food is still consistent, however the price has gone up. But still you are getting large portions and fresh fish quality, cooked food also still taste good. The service is usually hit or miss here. The servers here likes to take orders and thinking they will memorize everything but each time it never fails… they always forget one or two of our dishes. Let’s just write down or take down our orders, we know you get busy and missing orders makes customers wait longer and dissatisfied. Overall we had a satisfactory experience here. We were missing a couple items but the food is still consistent after all these years. You can put yourself on the waitlist via Yelp so it’s not too bad during busy hours.

Went at 6pm on a Friday in June, lots of new grads celebrating. Popular place, lots of people, mix of small and large parties, expect a wait. Staffing was adequate and food came out in a good tine
Pro tip: eat at off hours so you don't have to wait.

We have going here for years. It’s been great most of the time but we have realized the quality of the hamachi has gone down. The flavor is dull and isn’t as buttery anymore. What we normally order is the Lion King Roll, Island Roll, Saki Sashimi, Ikura Nigiri and Salmon Maki Rolls. Those are always a hit. Just sad to know how disappointing the hamachi is now.

Food is above average, but I had to put one star because this hasn’t happened just one time on me. Every time I order bento to go, sauce cup is melted and the lid is open, today, it just spilled all over my shirt and jacket. Can you try to not put in with very hot tempura? It’s toxic too.

We went here on a Saturday afternoon so we just missed the lunch rush. The location is great, it’s next to the beach so we walked after we ate. The staff were attentive, accommodating and friendly. The food was satisfactory, we only ordered the basic sushi menu just to get a taste of the cooking and it didn’t disappoint. The next table ordered a really nice sushi design menu and it looked good. We’re definitely coming back!
