This is the original sushi spot in Alameda. If you are a Bay Area native then you been here since high school. The food is still consistent, however the price has gone up. But still you are getting large portions and fresh fish quality, cooked food also still taste good. The service is usually hit or miss here. Went at 6pm on a Friday in June, lots of new grads celebrating. Popular place, lots of people, mix of small and large parties, expect a wait. Staffing was adequate and food came out in a good tine

We have going here for years. It’s been great most of the time but we have realized the quality of the hamachi has gone down. The flavor is dull and isn’t as buttery anymore.
What we normally order is the Lion King Roll, Island Roll, Saki Sashimi, Ikura Nigiri and Salmon Maki Rolls. Those are always a hit. Just sad to know how disappointing the hamachi is now.
