My favorite bar in Alameda, no doubt. There is something for everyone. Great drinks (creative cocktails, etc.), excellent patrons, friendly staff, and killer music. Check it out for Happy Hour on Friday! The Hunter is also dog friendly which just makes the place rule even more.

What a great place. Complete makeover from the old Shamrock. Very upscale. Great selection of spirits & beers. Knowledgeable bartenders.

The Hunter is Alameda's answer to all the hip cocktail bars in downtown Oakland. The overall ambience is trendy, laid back, and vintage-inspired, with a nice-sized bar full of craft and local spirits as well as some great couch seating. Their choose-your-own-adventure menu allows you to select the shrubs (flavored syrups for sodas) and spirits you would like in your drink, which makes for a unique cocktail experience seldom found elsewhere in the bay.

Place is great, chill atmosphere feels like an authentic modern but traditional vibe. Very diverse crowd, incredible bartenders. Pool table a huge bonus and complements the bar nicely.

Good drinks, good bartender, felt music was too loud and didn't really go with the ambiance, maybe if it had been later. But definitely a great happy hour stop.

We have tried to give this place a few honest shots but tonight was the absolute worst. I ordered a whiskey sour and they were out of egg whites so he substituted with pineapple juice. The premium price for a drink I paid for should not have tasted like a Capri sun. To give them another honest shot, I ordered a top shelf shot of Don Julio Reposado and the bartender grabbed the Blanco and it ran out mid pour. He then grabbed the Reposado I originally asked for and poured it into the glass that the Blanco was in. While I love my Don Julio tequila, I do know that you don't have to be a seasoned bartender to know that they don't taste "top shelf" when mixed together. I gave the guy a tip but still left feeling ripped off when leaving this place yet again. I hope the owner of this establishment starts hiring more professional bartenders for the price we are paying for drinks because that was rediculous. He also licked his fingers after putting cherries in cocktails; I honestly can't believe this place is still in business. Best of luck in 2020!

This spot never fails to impress. They serve fresh dishes for convenient rates, there are no long waits even when the spot is packed.

Zach is the man, every single time we come into this bar we are greeted with a phenomenal smile and excellent customer service! This man is not only one of the sweetest bartenders, but his attention to detail on all the drinks that he makes is truly outstanding! Overall, we need more people like him!
