Tucker's is a beloved gem in Alameda and has been a long-standing tradition for our family. My husband grew up enjoying Tucker's, and now we've continued the tradition with our children. The flavor selection is incredible—there hasn’t been a single one we didn’t enjoy. Whether you're staying to savor your ice cream in the charming shop or strolling through Alameda's quaint downtown, the experience is always delightful.
The vibe is welcoming and nostalgic, perfect for creating lasting memories. And don’t miss their fresh-made, chocolate-covered waffle cones—they’re worth the trip alone! Tucker’s truly embodies everything you want from a local, family-run ice cream parlor: exceptional quality, friendly service, and a touch of magic. Highly recommend!

This team delivers high quality, reasonably priced food products every time. They are courteous and efficient. My family and I have enjoyed the Tucker’s ice cream experience many times for the past eleven years. Their mint chocolate chip ice cream is angel food 😋🥳 Enjoy!!

Tucker’s Ice Cream in Alameda was the perfect dessert place! They were busy but the line moved quick. I ordered a classic…banana split…which equally matched the classic vibe of this ice cream place. What nostalgia & what great experience! Nothing beats classic taste! ??

I guess just another business that doesn't care about his customers anymore.

Love the nostalgic feeling and look and it was fun but I had better ones and more flavourful ones like the Mexican ice cream in Livermore. Overall it was really nice to try it.

Can someone explain how the baby scoop (on the left) is $3, and a regular single scoop is $5.50? The baby scoop is like 2 samples worth of ice cream. Rip off
New favorite ice cream place for my daughter. We never come over to Tucker's because we live on the West End but we got free ice cream coupons from the Alameda Library from the Summer Reading Challenge and decided that since we are already over here and it's free ice cream so what the heck, right? But my daughter loved her ice cream. She's usually a soft serve only gal and so we tend to go to another place on the West End but she actually loved this so we'll make it our place to go after the library every 3 weeks or so. Service was fast and payment (even with the coupon) was easy.

Calling in the new management- treat this place like the gem it is...
I grew up in Alameda and absolutely loved Tucker's growing up. It had the creamiest icecream and all different kinds of fudge, a good time for friends and family. I used to recommend this place to whomever would visit from out of town as it was a childhood sanctuary.
Since new management in 2021, the place has gone seriously down hill. I don't blame the staff who work hard to ensure customers are cared for, but I do blame their bosses. You can tell they don't care for the place, and if they do, they don't show it.
Items are constantly out of stock, icecream has freezer burns, and the decor/menu is literally falling apart. It's fairly clear the new owners are cutting corners to save money and by doing so costing the very thing that would make them money--- a well maintained and cared for icecream shop that is a staple of Alameda's downtown.
This is not to "cancel" the new owners, or tell people to avoid the shop. I'll always encourage people to go for the sake of its memory with a caveat that new owners could do 100% more (or ensure the legacy of the shop continues by selling to someone who can).
The only reason I'm not giving the owners' 1 star is because of how special this place is.
