The food, service and atmosphere was excellent!
This is Yojimbo's 2nd location (the original location is currently closed) and somehow everything is even better than it was- we didn't even have to wait for a table đ
Thank you for a great dinning experience!

Love coming here, one of my favorite to stop by itâs like my 10th time
Friendly staff and lots good options.
The complimentary peanut salad and the cream puffs.
I saw new items added and looks good to try out.

A little high on prices, and the menu was could have more, but the quality and the atmosphere with the music was on point.

Certainly not the same yojimbo. Felt like the portions and the quality of the food have dropped significantly

I loved this place and am grateful I got enjoy it. If you're into Samurai, art, and collectible figurines, then you're in for a nice bonus as well. The food was smelled so good that I ate immediately and forgot to take pictures of it. I definitely recommend the Sobba roll of you're not scares off by eel. It was DELICIOUS! All the food was delicious. I did manage to walk around like I was in an art gallery and snap some pictures tho.

If I could give zero stars for the food, I would. The decor is very cute. The service is OK. The salad dressing is good. The rest of the food was awful. All the rolls were falling apart. Every roll was too big and sloppy. A combination of crappy rice (dry, unseasoned and no vinegar) and fundamental mistakes. This is just careless sushi operation. The meal was comparable to prepackaged, store bought sushi. Even the ginger sucked. The donuts were tasty but toughâŠ. Donut jerky

Solid Japanese comfort food done right. Super cute decor inside with TVs playing Anime and small figurines everywhere. Danny Yuen and Neo from Matrix was in my corner. đ„
The chicken katsu curry hit exactly how it should: crispy cutlet, rich curry in a separate bowl on the side, fluffy rice, easy to finish.
The Wakame salad was served in a large portion. The 49ers roll was simple and great, salmon and lemon over a California roll.
Nothing flashy. Just consistent, satisfying, and worth coming too for a bright friendly vibe.

Yojimbo offers some of the best service in Alameda. The restaurant is clean, quick, and welcoming, making it a great place to grab a meal whether youâre dining solo or coming in with a large group. The atmosphere is especially funâthe artwork, action figures, and Japanese anime movies are incredibly entertaining and add so much personality to the space.
We ended up staying for over two hours, ordering more food here and there, and the staff never once made us feel rushed or that we were being annoying. At one point, my brother thought he had lost his wallet in the restaurant, and the staff were incredibly helpful and eager to assist him in looking for it. Thankfully, he found itâwith everything still insideâwhich really speaks to the care and integrity of the place. The bathrooms are clean, and the menus include pictures, which makes it easy and enjoyable for kids to read and choose their own meals. Overall, itâs a comfortable, family-friendly spot with outstanding service.

Ladies and gentlemen, the art here is jaw dropping and the antique-culture matching toy displays match the witty-youthful asian style. You will have fund finding the genre you grew up with.
We both had ramen and it did not disappoint. Perfect ramen for the chilly or down days that will bring your spirits back up.
Seating on two levels with lounging sofas on the second floor. Layout is deep and away from the front door.

2025 Edit:
Yojimbo is a staple in Alameda. Throughout the years they have remained consistently good. They stay true to their style, and give a unique experience with their gallery restaurant.
I was too harsh in the past about their ramen, because I keep coming back for it every time âșïž their sushi is also the tastiest you can find nearby. I hope they stick around for a long while!

2017:
The ramen bowls are humongous! The broth is not that special, but they come with a lot of meat, which is great. If you're getting one of those, I would suggest not ordering anything else. The service is good, and the space, despite small, is cozy and clean. I would recommend this place

Great spot, a little difficult finding street parking tho. Interior is whimsical with lots of anime figurine display and black ink drawings on the walls. Food is fantastic, tho on the pricey side. Service was good, not great, especially if you catch them on a shift change like we did.

I'm not one for discovering new places, but that day something drew us into this restaurant, and we were 100% satisfied. A peaceful place, delicious food, and very friendly and attentive staff. Everything was perfect. Thank you, see you soon!
