The food was delicious, but I felt like I was in Japan!Above all, people who like Japanese animation will like it.

I ordered pick up, sashimi cost $54, but bring home, it’s taste so bad, not fresh, I thought this restaurant has good reviews, turn out very disappointing. No good sushi place compared to

Came here for my birthday dinner (12/13/23) and was not disappointed. I hadn't yet been to this new location and had only been to their original spot down on Park St., so I was excited to check out their new place.Definitely a significantly larger space with way more room and higher ceilings (though I do really enjoy the hole-in-the-wall vibes of the original spot). Better for groups (and we were a group of five this night). Our waitress was very nice and the food came out pretty fast. There was some minor confusion/a mixup over a dish my dad ordered, which they rectified immediately without issue.I got my usual, the spicy miso gyoza ramen, and it was so delicious. I also got a couple pieces of nigiri that were very fresh. We hadn't been to Yojimbo for a few years, so we were all pretty impressed by how generous they are with their portions and especially for the price. We're all so used to getting little food for our money in the Bay Area these days that we were happily surprised by how full we all were at the end of the meal. Just the amount of teriyaki chicken my brother got in his bento was shocking. Now I know that I can go to either Yojimbo location and get a great meal. Will definitely keep supporting both.

Didn't enjoy this place at all unfortunately. My pork ramen tasted like fish. Sushi was soggy and tasted really strange. Staff wasn't that attentive. Won't be going back or recommending this place.

Yojimbo Sushi provides a charming ambiance that enhances the overall dining experience. The food is impressive, reflecting a commendable culinary standard. Despite a slight delay in service, the enjoyable atmosphere and delicious dishes make it a place worth revisiting for sushi enthusiasts.RatingFood: 4.5Ambiance: 4.5Price: 4Service: 3.5Overall: 4.5It's our spot for sushi.

Took a friend here for a late lunch and Yo Jimbo did not disappoint! We kept it simple with some gyoza and a couple rolls - everything tasted great. The prices were reasonable and service was quick and friendly. The best part of course is the art on display and the Studio Ghibli movies playing in the background.

tl;dr Lower quality sushi for higher prices, but at least you get an amazing view of the gallery! Service is also top notch. I was taken to the larger Yojimbo by local friends, as they recommended it as one of their go-to's for sushi/Japanese cuisine. Yojimbo has two sites, one that's the original and is very small, seemingly mainly for takeout orders, and a second called the "gallery", this one, which is a full restaurant size and has amazing art and figures from Japanese anime and pop culture all along the walls. Service was the best part of my visit, as the waitstaff was very attentive, offering water and tea refills throughout and checking in periodically. Variety is my spice of life, so I opted for the bento choice with salmon teriyaki, sashimi, and spicy tuna rolls, which totaled to about $21. The bento choice comes with a miso soup as well. Take a look at my picture. The salmon teriyaki option cost over $6. The sashimi and spicy tuna roll individual prices were more reasonable, but the price of the salmon teriyaki was incredibly disappointing. The sashimi was also not the freshest or best cuts, as all pieces were pretty stringy and I had to swallow them whole since they did not bite off cleanly. The best part of my meal was probably the spicy tuna rolls. Now the gallery. This is the cool part if you like name and Japanese pop culture. According to my friend, the owner did the art themselves, which is super cool if true! They also have Japanese movies playing in the background on TVs.Overall, I would be okay returning if my friends wanted me to but would order something cheaper or simpler that would be less impacted by quality. Given the choice, I'd probably go elsewhere.

Yojimbo Sushi beckons with an inviting interior, blending wood accents and hanging lights for a charming ambiance. The space is modern, featuring flat-screen televisions and a robotic table-clearing assistant, along with anime artwork and action figures adorning the walls.Service began on a high note, as our waiter presented a complimentary house salad that was an artful display of vibrant greens. A delightful surprise awaited within - a delicate tempura yam nestled in the bowl. The salad itself was a crisp, refreshing masterpiece, with a dressing displaying finesse, although I detected a hint of commercial thickening, possibly from cornstarch. The "Cowboy Bebop" roll I selected was a harmonious blend of softshell crab, barbecue eel, and salmon roe. The softshell crab exhibited remarkable freshness, maintaining its delightful crispness throughout. The salmon roe provided bursts of oceanic freshness without any grit. This was a clean, textural marvel, merging crunch and velvety smoothness. The leftover roll revealed its own delights, stuffed with softshell crab, avocado, and mango at its heart, each roll boasting a distinct outer layer, with one crowned with avocado, while another showcased luscious albacore tuna, salmon, and bluefin tuna. This was the zenith of the meal, where the bluefin tuna's silkiness paired seamlessly with the mango's creamy smoothness and the softshell crab's delightful crunch. The albacore tuna was equally impressive. The shrimp-topped roll contributed a subtle briny note, enhancing the creamy and crunchy ensemble, rivaling the raw fish rolls. Every fish morsel exuded impeccable freshness, devoid of any odor, delivering a seamless, buttery smoothness. However, in this symphony of flavors, one minor critique emerged. The teriyaki sauce, while tantalizingly sweet, occasionally overpowered the natural freshness and robust ingredients of the roll.In conclusion, Yojimbo Sushi promises an exceptional dining experience. With its impeccable service, creative menu featuring fresh, vibrant flavors, and captivating ambiance, it holds the potential to become a staple in the Bay Area's sushi scene. This culinary journey was a delight, and I eagerly anticipate returning for an encore performance.

Let's say yes. It's nice I side with plenty of tables .. the art on the walls is amazing. I love the food here zz. Everything is good. I usually get the combo sushi with the Ramen. Any ramen here is fantastic. The servers are really cute so it makes for a better experience . I keep coming back and forget to review. It's a win all around ... just say yes. The sushi is fresh. Good portions and very very good

Food is good, though the menu is very basic. The decor is horrible, they need a interior designer badly. Exposed edges, bad choices and hodgepodge arrangement. Bar in front is a supply cabinet. Slow service, waited a long time for our check and not very attentive. All while the owner watches you tube in the back.

I agree with the other Yelp reviews; this place is not as good as the original.Quality/Quantity - YouDontWannaKnowMe Roll - Interesting, you sure I don't want to know you?49er Roll - Basic, like every other 49ers Roll. Supporting our SF teams!Teriyaki Salmon Bento Box - My guest's favorite. She always gets this at every Japanese restaurant. But this one had very generous salmon.Hot tea - Good. They refilled our tea often.See pictures of the menu for other options.Quantity not as much as the original location. Quantity was what they used to be known for.Atmosphere - Cool art throughout. From outside to inside!Cool decor, but the place still feels like American Oak to me. Maybe because I used to come there too often...?Indoor or outdoor seating.Open 6 days a week from 11am to 8:30 pm; closed Sundays.Catering available.Had a lot of to-go orders. Service - They also have the robots here that bring you your food. It is the second business in Alameda with that.Price - $69 + tip, expensive for what we got.Owner Suggestion - Congrats on your success at this new location since 2022 and to the two brothers (and parents).

Went for late lunch with the family. We got bento boxes, sushi, and ramen bowls. Everything was very good & servings were very generous. The kids loved the anime art & décor throughout the restaurant. Our server was very attentive & helpful too!
