We moved to Alamo this summer and are trying local restaurants. Today is our 11 year anniversary and our oldest son has been wanting to try sushi now that he’s more open to new foods. We were incredibly disappointed with our $120 takeout order, both in quality and flavor. The presentation was poor and, even for Alamo, the rolls that we ordered were overpriced for what we received. I am usually the person who wants to leave five star reviews to help build up a business, but I was so disappointed in this anniversary dinner and how expensive it was that I had to post to try to help other people avoid this mistake. I barely ate mine, my husband didn’t touch his, and now he’s out getting fast food to feed our family since most restaurants close at 9 :/ I really wanted to like this place because we live within walking distance, but save yourself the money and try another restaurant :(

My family loves Ha La Sushi. We are so spoiled by this restaurant that we don’t go anywhere else. The owners are fun and the fish is insanely delicious. Highly recommend!!

The menu on DoorDash vs their menu on their website did not match up. I received the wrong order. I complained and asked for a refund. The restaurant should have contacted door dash about having the wrong menu and given me a refund. They could have kept their money from DoorDash and still be paid since it’s a DoorDash issue. They called me 3 different times arguing about giving a refund. They were yelling at me about the rolls when I showed screen shots of all the rolls being different. Very rude customer service and unnecessary to keep calling me and leaving voicemails. This was clearly an issue they needed to resolve with the DoorDash platform and not me.

I’ve been dining several times a month at HaLa for years and certainly find my experiences consistently worth 5 stars! Quality and freshness is my priority, and they never disappoint. What’s really unusual is their wine list. It’s top notch, too. Sure, if it’s really busy, I might have to wait a few minutes to order, but with a fine glass of wine to begin with an appetizer, I’m good! Ken and crew are phenomenal hosts and always make me feel welcomed and comfortable.
Vegetarian options: Many! Can’t recommend from the list because it’s too limited. Dozens of items are excellent.
Dietary restrictions: It’s sushi et al. No dairy!
Parking: Plenty of parking right at the door.
Kid-friendliness: If you have noisy, rambunctious kids, no worries. Outside seating, too!
Wheelchair accessibility: Parking lot / front door access.
