The server was great and the new owner is very kind. He took time to greet me and my wife and welcome us and made our time so fun and special.

I always liked Opah but I don't think we will be back any time soon. The prices have gone up drastically. French fries are $12?? I typically order the seafood salad which is always excellent My friend ordered the lamb salad and had to return the lamb because it was very well done. They remade it for her but again very well done. Disappointing and overpriced.

Traveling from out of town, the reviews were good and the location was great. Initially sat at the bar.... Great drinks; very prompt and friendly service . Went into the dining room , we had scallops and linguini and shrimps..... excellent. Service was great . The owner came by and made sure all was good (Elliot ?). Very nice guy... long story short when we visit the area again we'll go back....

The new owner Joe was very hospitable and engaging. He seemed very genuine and gave his card to use to reach out if we needed to get in touch with him...like the “old days” showing interest in his customers which is not the norm these days. Really appreciated him and will definitely be coming back more often as the food was very good and service was also great👍🏼👍🏼

The food was great and we have dined here previously. Unfortunately the entire dinner was rushed. The wait staff greeted us, asked 1 of 5 person's drink order, asked for any appetizers, and then asked for our dinner choices. We weren't even at our table for 10 minutes before this took place. Every step of our meal was rushed. It was like they needed the table for another party, although we booked early, 530pm. It was a birthday dinner which was mentioned to both hostesses, who acknowledged to tell server, which did not happen. The food was very good. We all wish we were given the time to savor the meal and enjoy the restaurant.

Always a great meal. We had fish and chips and the salmon. We also tried the chicken meatball appetizer that was very good.

My first timing getting to dine at Opah and it did not disappoint. I went on a Friday night with my wife and another couple. The atmosphere was lively, but not hectic. Our server was very attentive and personable. We are all impressed by the drink menu, which included some unique options. I tried a Bullit bourbon martini. It was well balanced and very strong. For main courses I had the scallops over risotto and my wife had the chef special Mahi Mahi. Both we incredible, each dish was tender, juicy, seasoned just right and served at the perfect temperature. I highly recommend Opah and will definitely be back.

I have to try the crabcakes everywhere I go and I finally found the best ones in Aliso. Thank you.

Opah Seafood Grill in Aliso Viejo is absolutely thriving under its new ownership! While the restaurant has long been a beloved spot, and rightly so with the dedication of people like Everett who has been a cornerstone for over 30 years, the recent change in ownership has clearly injected a new level of energy and excellence.
From the moment you step inside, the inviting atmosphere that Opah is known for, along with the impeccable service provided by Kevin.
The food is outstanding. The seafood was incredibly fresh, expertly prepared, and bursting with flavor. Each dish we sampled was a testament to the kitchen's commitment to quality ingredients and skillful execution. From perfectly seared scallops to the flavorful grilled fish, every bite was a delight. It's clear the new operator has elevated, the high standards Opah has always been known for.
Finally, our server. Kevin was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. The entire staff well-trained and dedicated to ensuring every guest had a memorable experience. It was a seamless and enjoyable interaction from start to finish.
It's exciting to see a restaurant with such a strong foundation, thanks to the long-term dedication of individuals like Everett, embrace a new chapter with such promising results. The new ownership, Joey G, clearly understands how to build upon that success and has created something truly special in Aliso Viejo. If you haven't been to Opah recently, or if you're new to the area, now is definitely the time to experience this exceptional seafood grill. Highly recommended!

Food was very good and tasty. The food was served hot. Service was very slow. Dishes were brought out one at a time for our party of 4. Soups and salads came out the same time as the entree. It was busy. Servers need more training.
