Buford's is an amazing family-owned place in downtown Antioch. The food is delicious and the owners are really welcoming. The sauce is great and the mac n cheese is wonderful.

Worst service!!!!
My first time was the best my second was so completely opposite.my sons chicken tenders were so overcooked and dry not even fresh my brisket sandwich dry n old my coleslaw old and soggy n brown I felt as if they truly didn't want me to ever eat there again.and I won't worst service I ever had in a restaurant.no one was attentive my Lil son twice walked up to get ketchup n that took long.but 3 other tables were gladly attended to very frequently.just don't understand.
The best brisket and ribs I’ve ever had! So much flavor, and the meat was perfectly tender. The staffs was super friendly, and the atmosphere was great. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for BBQ in the East Bay, then look no further. This is a very good option fill your stomach with some good southern cooking. They serve REAL sweet tea here. I ordered pork ribs, brisket, beef sausage, macaroni and cheese , fried okra, The baked beans are simple, flavorful and a nice size serving. The sausage link was mild with tiny bits of spice. Brisket was juicy, smoky and tender. Okra was absolutely perfect. It didnt have too much breading like other places. Pork ribs are worth it to come here by themselves. Bring some wet wipes. It's going to get messy. Unfortunately the Mac & Cheese needs some help. There was no roux, no cheese crust on top and I was disappointed. It didnt seem fresh. Service was really good. They had 2 people cleaning tables, 1 person taking orders and 1 person in the kitchen (from what I saw). They have about 6 tables for customers and 2 benches for a waiting area. I didnt see any outside seating. Overall, I'd come back here again and bring 3 friends.

The area is real low key and quiet. The food was very good, and the BBQ sauce was amazing. The service was good, but it was the family vibe for me. The prices are decent too. Overall, it was a great place to eat in Antioch.

My wife and I were looking for a good place for barbecue and we chose Buford’s BBQ to check out. The first few times we went there they were closed but yesterday we struck gold and they were open.
From the point we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with god blessed hospitality by the Bufords. This was an indication of what was to come.
I ordered Catfish and Shrimp / Prawns with two (2) sides and my wife ordered Fried Chicken with (2) sides of green beans and Mac and Cheese. I had Mac and Cheese with French Fries. My goodness, the food was GREAT. In fact, I would classify the Buford’s and the food as being “Blessed by the Best!” The food was fresh and seasoned to perfection and the hospitality was worthy beyond “5 Stars.”
The Buford’s hospitality and food, in my opinion, reflected a “Barbeque and Eating Experience” that we have rarely experienced. Dining at Buford’s BBQ was a dining experience that is worthy of being on Diners, Drive-In, and Dives TV show. It is certainly worthy of Bay Area media coverage.
The only reason why Buford’s BBQ has not received the recognition they deserve is because it is in Rivertown, Antioch and the foot traffic is extremely low.
My wife and I feel extremely fortunate to have dined at Buford’s and we will be encouraging all our friends and neighbors in Antioch and Pittsburgh to dine there.
To the Buford’s thank you for truly opening your doors to us and sharing a true dining experience, your hospitality and tremendously scrumptious food with us.
We will, without question, be returning to have many more tremendous dining experiences with you.
Parking: Parking is not an issue. Don’t let parking be the reason for not eating at Buford’s BBQ. In my opinion, walking a short distance to Buford’s would certainly be worth it.
