JJ's has been one of my favorite restaurants to go to for their catfish. I grew up in Richmond CA and I love their catfish😋 now Im living in Antioch for the past 10yrs and my son ordered me the catfish oder from the contra loma JJ's and I was so disappointed🙁 My catfish was overcook and the bread was stale. My fries was the only good thing in my order. That's why I gave 2 stars. I guess I was expecting my order to taste the same as the JJ's in Richmond. Oh well I guess it all depends on who the cook is🤔

I gave one star to be able to get to this box to write this comment. The fries were very soggy and wet. The greens did not taste like collard greens. Everything had same taste. This is my second time at this JJ’s and I will not be back. I have this after taste in my mouth that I don’t like and what ever it is does not belong in greens or on fried shrimp.

The food is always hot and fresh. I gave the chicken 4 stars because I am a Southern trained cook and I prefer more seasoning, especially on fried chicken.

My grandmother has been going to this restaurant for a very long time—almost every Friday. She usually orders the catfish and has never had any issues. But recently, she had a taste for wings and decided to try something different.
When she received her food, she noticed that the wings had visible dark marks, and the bones looked dark underneath the skin. She also mentioned that the bread was very stale. After taking just one bite, her stomach turned—she said it tasted like the food was old. She had to throw the entire meal away.
First time I Ordered fried fish and fried mushrooms, spent $100+. Suggestions, add beer battered options for customers the breading you used is too much breadcrumbs. Have light batter and less or not to put that powder seasoning it was salty. I will keep checking ur menu, until u dont change ur batter or have other batter option, I will not order again.

The chicken was bland and overcooked, the Mac n cheese was such a disappointment it was like some type of off brand kraft Mac n cheese, the red beans and rice is decent, fries are decent. I guess I’ll drive back over there and give it to the homeless outside. Complete waste of money
