This is only my third time coming here, but it will certainly be my last. The food was definitely mediocre. I got a simple breakfast with pancakes, eggs, and country potatoes. More like one potato, diced up and unseasoned. The pancakes were not fluffy and flat and the egg was overcooked. I was with four others celebrating my daughters birthday and I needed to step out a little early, so I left my credit card with my daughter upon arriving home and looking at the receipt I noticed I was charged for a large party tip even though it was only five of us and a large party consists of six. I called the establishment and was told that the waiter agreed it was his mistake and that I should receive a refund for the added gratuity in 2 to 3 days. And if I don’t, then I can come down there and they will get it taken care of. This is not good business if you made a mistake the same way you took my money to pay for it. You should be able to refund me immediately After reading more reviews. I see that the same server has also done this with another party so now it’s seems more like a way to get a large tip without people knowing. I certainly won’t be back. Receipt is attached and you can see five meals were ordered for the five people that were there yet. It shows party of six. I’ll update once I Receive my refund. Update I received my refund of the 20% gratuity that was taken

It is nice to find fine dining in Antioch

We just had lunch with another couple. We arrived slightly before 11:30am, to beat the rush for lunch. The restaurant was maybe 30% full, yet we waited 45 minutes before our food was served. I found the multiple face piercings on our waitress as unprofessional for a fine dining restaurant.

We and another couple arrived at 900am for breakfast. The waitress was professional in appearance and action. We were served promptly. We all enjoyed our meals. It was not full, however it was noisy.
This delightful riverside spot is ideal for any meal, especially a Sunday evening. Its beautiful setting offers a wonderful experience for breakfast, lunch, or dinner with loved ones, though the excellent view is reflected in the prices. A truly pleasant surprise.

I got a chicken Caesar salad and a side of garlic fries. For lunch. The food was nothing to write home about and was overpriced considering it was lunch, and size of the salad.

The food was not as what all hype is about. The waitress we got was actually good 👍 very attentive but after all that it was horrible. We literally waited almost 1 hour to get someone to give and get our check for us to pay. We requested to speak to the manager and we were informed he was drunk and could not attend us. Horrible service. The view was nice but not worth the price they charged for the services they offer.

Food was lowkey mid, but the mimosas were good and strong. Expected better quality of food based on the prices, I’ve had better for cheaper. Not enough flavor and they barely give you any potatoes on the side, and throw pieces of spinach on top to cover the spots of emptiness. Overall I had a decent experience and I would go back.

I have been hearing about Monica’s for years now and this was the first time I got to try it.
The atmosphere was nice and fun and the water view helped.
Service was good
Food was 7/10 I think I just ordered the wrong meal, everyone enjoyed their food. I’ll have to comeback and try something else.

I got the polenta and it was more than enough to split between my boyfriend and I. Portions are big and tasty!

Monica’s Riverview in Antioch is a great spot for breakfast. The river view makes the whole place feel calm and open, and the patio and indoor areas both have a warm, welcoming vibe. I ordered the Churro Waffle and it was delicious, light, and full of flavor.
We also brought our Pomeranian with us, and the server was incredibly kind. She brought out a dog bowl without us even asking, which was a thoughtful touch. The service overall was friendly, attentive, and efficient.
The combination of good food, great ambiance, and genuinely warm service made it a really enjoyable visit. I would definitely go back.

Disappointing and Misleading Experience
I visited Monica’s on the River today for the first time after checking their website and social media, excited for their happy hour menu. It was a frustrating and disappointing experience from start to finish.
We arrived at 3 PM, expecting happy hour food and drinks, as the website stated the new hours wouldn’t take effect until January 1. However, we were immediately told the restaurant would close in 30 minutes. The manager, who seated us, incorrectly said breakfast was served all day. Moments later, the waitress informed us breakfast had ended at 3 PM.
When we asked to order from the happy hour menu, we were told happy hour food wasn’t available because “holidays” were excluded. However, New Year’s Eve (December 31) isn’t a holiday, and the website doesn’t indicate they consider it one. What made it more frustrating was that they were serving happy hour drinks, not food. This made no sense, as the printed menu specifies that happy hour isn’t served on holidays—yet they conveniently applied this only to food, not drinks, on a day they decided was a “holiday.”
I ordered a hot toddy, but it was watered down, with barely any alcohol, and the honey was served on the side instead of mixed in. It was poorly prepared and disappointing.
The manager’s breath was unpleasant, and they were dismissive of the fact that their online information was inaccurate and misleading. For people traveling specifically based on their posted hours and menu, this is unacceptable. We ultimately left without eating. This was my first visit, and it will be my last.

I asked for American cheese on my eggs and they gave me American singles. Wasn’t pleased with my visit.

Mediocre food at best. Service was quite poor considering how many employees were there. And could not believe how expensive it was for 2 people to eat.

Garlic fries are amazing! My Santa Fe chicken sandwich was delicious! Hubs loved his burger and the blue cheese dressing was his favorite!! Homemade and fresh!
My boy said the best pancakes he's ever had. Great river view restaurant ...safe parking.
