This place is gross... Lights are dimmed for a reason.. They just serve reheated food reasons why plates are hot.. I had taco tamale combo and taco was meh but Tamale was gross just looking at it.. Waiter asked everything good and i replied no look as this Tamale would u or the cooks in back eat this gross looking thing, he took it back and disappeared no apology or anything which frankly i did want just wanted to get out of that gross place and hit up Jack n the Box next door cause i was hungry and very disappointed with this place.. I shoulda known the Lights Dimmed was not a good sign.. I see why they are dimmed so that u dont notice the gross food in front of you...

Delicious Sunday champagne brunch buffet. There are many items to choose from. The restaurant staff will serve the entree and items in this buffet. Soups, salad, dessert, and fruit juices are self service. There is menudo and posole during the weekends. I had a big bowl of menudo. It came with the beef feet in it which made it very tasty. The pata was cooked until tender and gelatinous. Definitely a textural contrast with the honeycomb tripe. The broth is rich tasting. The standard toppings are there so you can add according to taste. I had a plate of rice, beans, chile relleno, breakfast sausages, and carnitas. The chile relleno came recommended and I could see why. It was very flavorful with the cheese filling and came with a fluffy fried outer coating. One of the better chile rellenos I have ever had. Rice and beans were standard fare and adequate. The breakfast sausage appeared to be the Hormel precooked ones, deep fried until browned and will hit the spot for breakfast meat. Carnitas, on the other hand, were not good tasting. The cut seemed to be slices of dried out pork roast sliced in chunks, seasoned with unrecognizable spices, and slapped on your plate with a serving spoon. It is a definite no for me since I prefer carnitas seasoned just with salt water and fried in a vat of lard. Homemade tortillas made in house are always a plus. The desserts consisted of cut fruit, assorted cakes, flan, and chocolate dipped items. Desserts all landed in the adequate and serviceable category. Nothing outstanding here but all fine to satisfy the end of meal sweet tooth. We were a large party taking up two long tables in the back dining room where the buffet service is located. It will be very cramped in the back dining room so navigating your way to and from the buffet line will be challenging. Nevertheless, the buffet is a good deal for $26.95 and I would definitely return for another visit soon.

While the chicken chimichanga (and piña colada) I ordered was just average, the service was excellent and prompt! I have never had a wait staff stop by my table more frequently and ask if I needed anything than they did here. The decor is what you'd expect at a Mexican restaurant.

Wow.....just wow!! This used to be the "go-to" place for good Mexican, but I haven't been in awhile. Decided to go for an early dinner inbetween errands and sadly we were very disappointed in both the food and the service. Having been in the food industry AND an owner of 2 Mexican restaurants in San Diego, I watch and observe everything....maybe a little too much...but I know what was expected of my staff and the food we served. Anyway, I ordered 2 tacos Ala Carte and they were the most tasteless & dry tacos I've ever had...one grilled fish & the other al pastor. For $14.50 I expected a lot more than 2 rock hard shells with hardly any filling. A total rip off. Hubby had a burrito plate & it was just okay. Sadly, the only thing that was good was the chips & salsa. We were the only people in there and only saw the waiter once when he took the order. Never came back to check in us. The young man at the desk brought the food, bussed & brought the bill. Unfortunately, I'll never go back here again. There are far too many places that are much better, cheaper and have excellent service. What a shame

Went here yesterday with my family and the place was FILTHY!!! the tables were sticky and the seat we were led to had spilled soda in it and crumbs all over it. We were tempted to leave and not eat anything that came from the kitchen but our waiter arrived with chips so we decided to stay to avoid being rude. Big mistake. The food was terrible. We ordered a platter for two and nothing tasted good. It was all flavorless and had an immensely disturbing texture. I shouldn't get a spray of juice when I bite into fried chicken. Avoid this place like the plague. They are feeding you dirt and filth. Don't go. DO NOT EAT HERE!! EVER!!

I'm sad about this, but also feel slighted. For over 15 years, this was one of our favorite restaurants in Apple Valley. Approximately 6 months ago, we were there and the brunch was below par with over cooked food and cold stuff that seemed to have sat too long. Ok, well any place can have an off day. We tried it again tonight for my birthday. Service was HORRIBLE. My Chile Relleno dinner was "ok", but my husband's tacos were awful. Very little meat, soggy lettuce, not tasty. The salad I ordered had barely cut leaves. Maybe a shark could eat it that way, but I had to cut each piece of lettuce just to eat it. It's also extremely rare to get a horrible waiter, but we got one tonight. This kid did NOT want to be there. We had to beg for napkins, joking amongst ourselves that we should have brought out own. The table was sticky! Ewww Also had to beg for the check so we could get the heck outta there. My husband talked to "acting manager", Jose who said there was nothing he could do about our dissatisfaction and further elaborated the owners are rarely there anymore. This must be why the place is no longer a quality restaurant. Morale' seemed non existent with this staff. This place used to be jovial and fun, tonight it was serene. With all the competition in the area for Mexican food, we will be going elsewhere from now on. Las Brisas and Chichios are much better and have comparable prices.
