It was a quick stop but the food was delicious.

Excellent excellent pizza. Consider getting a frozen spritz if their machine is working (it rarely is), they're delicious.

Mentone is a gem in the heart of Aptos. A true delight for the senses. They capture the feeling of dining out on the Riviera. The style of cuisine is truly European so drop your American expectations at the door and submerge yourself in a wine and cocktail fueled evening of elegantly crafted fare.

Our food was good but: very small portions for the high cost. One should get enough to be satisfied, had to order an order of focaccia to add more substance. Waitresses don’t offer bread, olive oil , Parmesan cheese. Also glass of wine is a short pour for the cost.

Pasta with tuna was one of the worst dishes I've ever had. Both were overcooked and the dish was over salted. It was supposed to be spicy, but it wasn't. Not to mention it looked very unappetizing. Just a brown dish. Even the flat water they served had a odd taste. Food and drinks were served at off times, not together. Service was mediocre at best.
Okay, for the good. The cocktails were great and even thought provoking. The starters were good to great. Duck, good. Polenta, great. Dessert, tasty.

Overall, I will not be going back. Food and service for the money spent is nowhere near matched. Spend your money elsewhere.

Kid-friendliness: I would not take young children there, but that's just me. Why spend $30 on a dish for a kid who would rather have a burger.

I have been twice, both times were decent. I wouldn't drive out of my way to go here but when in the area it is the best option. It is pricey but worth the food. It's about quality not quantity here.

Really enjoyed the set-up of the place, nothing too fancy, but a good vibe. Staff was friendly and helpful.
I can’t say I enjoyed the food too much - the salad was very salty (especially with the un-rinsed fried salt capers), the mortadella sandwich was very nice with the homemade focaccia (I could have used a bit more mortadella in it) and the Margherita pizza was good (maybe the dough was a bit old, the crust didn’t rise nicely).
All this was fine and good, but unfortunately on our way out we passed by the open kitchen door, only to see their dishwasher blow dry the salad spinner with his breath 😫🤢. Maybe they can get a refresher about health and hygiene?

We walked in and were seated at the high stool seating area fairly quickly. Bar stools were uncomfortable after a while which made it hard to fully enjoy our plate. The eggplant appetizer was delicious and while the pizza was fresh with a soft, chewy crust, the toppings tend to slide off the crust and are a bit soggy so you have to eat it quickly after picking it up. Nothing really stood out.

Nice. Food was great, the champagne was not that good.

This restaurant deserves it’s Michelin rating. The squirting pastas to die for.

We sat outside at the “beach” on a Saturday afternoon. DJ playing old school R&B was a great vibe. Pizza and an Aperol Spritz was just right on this Summer weekend. We will definitely be returning. Neighboring tables salads and other pizzas looked equally good. Dog friendly. Staff would bring water bowls to each table with dogs. Staff was friendly and attentive, even in the casual outdoor environment.

Parking: There’s a parking lot and plenty of street parking.

Kid-friendliness: I can’t speak for indoors, but outdoor seating and pizza menu fine for kids.

Wheelchair accessibility: Outdoor seating directly from parking lot.

Some hits and some misses! The hits were the pizzas and gnocchi and frozen cocktail. We also loved the decor and the service! The misses were the bread and the Caesar salad. Both were ruined by too much bitterness. We had the stracciatella and bread. The cheese had some olive oil on it, which was a little bitter but it worked well, the problem was that the focaccia it was served with was coated in fennel or caraway and the bitterness over powered the whole thing. And I love fennel and caraway, but it did not work in this dish. I imagine how delicious it would be if the focaccia was just topped with a flaky salt! Secondly, the Caesar dressing was great but again, a little bitter. Normally I would love that but the salad was way overdressed and full of bitter/soggy radicchio, which ruined the salad for me. There was also some frisse, one of the worst lettuces, in my opinion. My family usually fights over the salad and we didn’t finish it. I am surprised by the misses, I expected to love everything!
