One of the older Safeways in Santa Cruz County, but very nice. Parking can suck also many of the drivers. The staff is very helpful and will help you and will look in the back for items if not out. They need more cashiers in the evening and holidays or the managers need to come out and help more.

This store has terrible customer service. The cashiers do not acknowledge you at all and act like you checking out is a nuisance. I avoid this store as much as I can unless it’s quick and self check out only. I do not know how they stay in business with such awful customer service.

Despite comments from managers referring complains to the Management Team, I have not seen customer service improvements over the four years that I have been shopping here. Staff is unfriendly, do not make eye contact, not a “hi, how are you doing”……..nothing!. The only time this employee said anything to me was when I was leaving, she handed me my receipt and said “here!” No thank you, no acknowledgment, not friendly. One time a check out person was too busy eating cake and talking to the bagger to run my groceries through. One time I asked a bagger how she was doing. Silence……… when she realized I was talking to her, she said “I’m so used to tuning people out.” Yikes!!!! I cringe when I go to this store not knowing what my experience will be. Ive recently started driving further for my groceries for a more positive and pleasant experience. Management Team, please train your staff to be more pleasant, make eye contact, smile and ask customers how their day is. Simple things like this can go a long way. It will also make the staff feel better about themselves. Smiles are contagious!

I have a service dog that I take in a dog stroller upon entering the store I was approached by an older man about how disgusting it was to have a dog in the store I proceeded to explain to him that it is a service dog I was on the phone with my daughter and she heard the whole conversation she called the store manger to make sure he wasn't bothering me she went above and beyond to ensure my safety I've been going to this store for years with no issues at all (with my dog )

I don't feel comfortable there. Borderline racists and they'll gladly stereotype you & treat you differently. The locals just stare at you as if you look like you don't belong there?

This location packs a lot of variety for such a small store. The additional self checkout stations have really helped the lines. Parking can still be an issue as the community squashed plans to enlarge the store and add a parking structure to keep our small town feel. The Safeway app updates make shopping (at any Safeway) complicated and the poor wifi makes it especially difficult.

It's one thing to say, "We take immense pride in offering world-class service, and will notify Leadership!" But it's a whole other step to actually implement it!!! This is the worst safeway in all of Santa Cruz. It was a pleasant store growing up shopping in up until recently with this new crowd you have running the front end. Not only are these new women terrible employees but they are down right mean, rude, and deserve an award for being the best at making customers feel extremely unwelcome in our own neighborhood grocery store that not only have I been shopping in my entire life but my whole family has also. Since this i now commute. Super disappointed!

Store hours says it’s open 24 hours - it’s not. Went for drunk munchies and they let me down. Don’t believe them when they say open 24 hours.

Constantly delayed fulfilling orders, delayed retrieving orders, now canceling orders outright hours after placing it. Not exactly the archetype of efficiency. On the other hand, every employee I've interacted with has been courteous.
