Safeway kleenex. Safeway has now put their brand on the (Softly) kleenex and whenever that happens run do not walk away from that product. Bought 5 boxes of the Softly kleenex and since they have their brand on the box the way the kleenex is made has changed. So beware that they put two thin pieces of kleenex together and appears a machine crimps the edges to sell as one piece. Try using to remove makeup and the two kleenex pieces slide away from each other and you end up with one sheet completely shred in your hand. Maybe fine for blowing your nose but that is all.

usually i love this safeway because they stay open 24 hours but recently they have been randomly placing a sign that says they are waxing their floors and will not let you in. i do not care if you have to clean the store but at least update your hours so i don't drive out :(

They are open 24/7 which you'd think is standard for a Safeway but it's actually super rare in the area. Very glad that this place is open at all hours as all restaurants close around 8/9pm. I'd starve with out this safeway. Thank you for your service

I went to 3 different clerks at Safeway, Aptos, yesterday. I let them know that there are 2 Safeway carts sitting next to the garbage cans, behind New Leaf. (The area where the fake grass is at) One clerk thanked me and walked away. The other 2 clerks were very polite, but they pointed out that the carts can just stay there, no one can pick them up. They will just buy more. According to them, the carts run $800 each. I would think that this loss of equipment, gets passed down to the shoppers in the price of groceries. The carts are still there. Does anyone have enough common sense to go pick them up? New Leaf has no use for them, either does the businesses down there. If I had a van, I would bring them back, but, since I don't, please pick them up!

This store has drastically improved within the last 4 months I've noticed and my friends have also mentioned to me! Once a store that I would purposely avoid is finally being run and operated correctly! Ringing up is now positive and fast with so many lanes open, the staff is very friendly and kind, what used to feel stale and unwelcoming is now full of life and inviting! I have noticed a new management staff there and I must give them credit where credit is due, way to turn things around for us aptosians

The pharmacist I spoke with was just unnecessarily rude from the beginning of the interaction. It was as if she was in a really poor mood and didn't leave it at the door. She was very demeaning and overly authoritative, I'd even say aggressive to my grand mother who just needed her to slow her taking speed down a little. Giving us the time of day as customers would be nice as well but I think that's asking a bit much from this pharmacy. A little respect would go a long way, be nice to old people.

I mean the food is what you expect from any Safeway. It is junky and very unhealthy but I guess if that's what you're looking for then this place is great. From my experience the people were very nice and treated you like friends. Yeah there really is nothing more to add.

Aptos is like Los Gatos by the Sea but this Safeway makes it seem like San Jose by the Sea. It is like Night of the Living Homeless in the parking lot. Mexicans are slining food from the trunks of their cars. Also, there is pigeon crap and flies covering the entrance. Go inside and it is like a scene from The Hills Have Eyes!

(Gas station) This is the Safeway gas closest to my house and my least favorite one!! I always wait in the correct line. Because I know they only have it to lanes for one way in and two lanes for the other way, however, no one ever pays attention, but I patiently wait in the correct lines however, it seems like it doesn't matter and I'm the only nice person there is. It just causes a big traffic jam and it takes even longer. I would rather pay more money for gas then.

While on vacation, shopping at the store in Aptos, CA, at about 11:00am, my husband and I were in line with groceries and a 12 pack of White Claw. The checker, I can not describe her any further than she had a mask on and purple gloves, proceeded to ask for both my husband and myself, for our IDs, both of us being 40 years old. We showed no signs of being inebriated, nor showed any other signs of impairment. I did not have mine but my husband did and the checker proceeded to tell us that it is store policy to ask for two IDs- this is not posted anywhere in the store nor the law in the state of California. When the manager was called over, he said that whatever the checker said, is what goes. We did not complete our purchase and left the store without causing a disruption. This is unacceptable customer service and I will be reporting this store to the Alcohol and Beverage Commission.

I called to place a simple cake order for my son for his birthday and was told very quickly They don't have anyone to decorate the cakes and I couldn't even special order a cake. It was a simple happy birthday didn't need decorations did not need balloons just so quick to tell me no what kind of bakery is this it's graduation season birthday season and you're telling me there's not one person that can decorate a cake. One more disappointing thing at the Safeway location. I read all the yelp reviews and corporate is quick to response, but what are they actually doing? Local people in Aptos Want to have a convenient full functioning store to shop at.

Be attentive..I've been stalked/observed, photographed, and recorded throughout my entire visit inside, and even to my and home. ..I'd recommend not shopping here if you read labels, compare items, use the phone/app(or anything in your pocket periodically, are indecisive, injured, handicap, or take time. They'll call code 200 and 201. Most likely, they will label you and then share all they've obtained with other locations, so dont be surprised if you get extra odd attention by random shoppers. They most likely took off the apron just for you... They stalk and awkwardly shop next to you. Won't help when you have questions or need help, like a cart throughout your visit. I've always been curtious, kind, and polite and cautiously shop for my strict diet often. It's not acceptable to feel uncomfortable buying food while being judged and treated like a criminal. The DM and SM have been made aware after i experienced this for many visits. I've been fed up with it and can't take it as a joke any longer. Safeway creates a false narrative by b discriminating and judging your shopping presence. If they lived up to their name, a safe way to shop is providing quality over quantity, genuine assistance, and setting the standard on their knock-off brand! How i see it, instead of bulk buying questionable foods to charge unrealistic prices on while blaming the consumer due to high turnover(waste) that they've made. It'd be more welcoming if they were charging a reasonable rate, discounting*(and honoring the discout( or donating the food before it expires)..

Case # 04602243 with corporate:On 5/18/23 at 10:10am the Safeway store director (manager) Joanna ripped up my e gift card print out, gave it back to me ripped up, from her assumption that she thought it was not legitimate. even though I purchased food at the morrisey (Santa cruz) location 5 times, and once at that same Aptos location with that same gift card print out. Humiliated me in front of customers. I work across the street...thanks Safeway.I called corporate and they verified it was a legit gift card with $57.72 remaining on the gift card. I would like a real apology from the Safeway manager, who made a wrong call on this, impulsively. I'm happy to go down there and discuss the matter. To be specific I activated this gift card on 10/9/22 for $250 from Bitrefill app, and used it the following 5 times at the morrisey location In Santa Cruz: 10/15/22 for $31.74, 10/23/22 for $42.96, 10/24/22 for $31.26, 10/24/22 for $19.24, and 11/13/22 for $27.47. I also used it one time at this same Aptos Safeway location on 1/24/23 for $39.61. this is all confirmed from Safeway corporate at the gift card section. I think when you are a store director/manager for a big company like Safeway, you should be sure of what you are accusing a regular customer of before you rip up their gift card, and accuse them of lying, in front of customers (they kept doing transactions at the register I went in to while all this was taking place) and several employees. I just moved to Aptos from Santa Cruz and never got treated with this kind of behavior at the Morrisey location in Santa Cruz, or on January 24th this year at the same Aptos location using the exact same gift card. I also would like to point out that the cashier told me the manager was warning all the other Safeways...of what? Using a gift card?! I am a District Manager of 8 locations for the company I work for in Santa Clara/Santa Cruz counties, not some person scamming Safeway for some milk, bananas, and blueberries at 10am. I have proof of purchase in my email which I can provide, and like I said, I would be happy to come down and discuss the matter. All I want is a real apology, what's fair is fair, and I was treated unfairly. I wasn't expecting an interrogation at Safeway... I am a paying customer like everyone else. Dont judge a book by its cover. Attaching proof of purchase below so there's no confusion on what happened, as well as my e gift card printout that was ripped up by the Safeway store director (manager) Joanna...

Deli is terrible, ordered a hot Ruben sandwich. The sandwich was terrible as was the service. The only bread they had was everything bagel seasoned roll, they was basically no meat on the sandwich and it was supposed to be toasted. It was cold. The entire store smelled of urine. I won't go back.

Won't come back here. We came for fried chicken, which is normally $9.99. Decided to get the $15 deal as it included drinks, rolls, and potato salad. LIARS! Just a ploy to get you to buy more. They still charged us an extra $10. Even as members. Will definitely report this store for false advertising. I'm so upset. Also, rotisserie chicken - dry and gross. Shame on you, Safeway.
