Specialty selection ice cream. Very clean place and chill to hang out.

Clean space, nice service, artisanal flavors. Enjoyed the fresh mint flavor, berry sorbet, and cardamom pistachio chip. Higher-end pricing for small batch/ quality ingredients. I do find the ice cream here not very creamy, it’s soft and melts very fast. I prefer a firmer ice cream.

I’m sorry but this ice cream is bad. It’s icy and the flavors are off. I love Jeni’s and McConnells and other unique brands. The Penny doesn’t compare. I cannot recommend this place at all.

Ordered the dark chocolate sorbet and the cranberry sorbet, both vegan I think. I don’t know what witchcraft they worked to make the dark chocolate sorbet so rich and creamy while still being vegan, but I’ll take it. The cranberry sorbet was very grainy and texturally felt more like an icy or slushy.This is gourmet ice cream and you pay the gourmet price. The torched marshmallow fluff was a nice addition.they make small batch seasonal flavors, so I did not get to try the bitter caramel. I think the best order would be the dark chocolate sorbet, and the bitter caramel in a sugar cone with the torched marshmallow fluff on top.They are generous with letting you try flavors before you buy anything.

Literal 3 bites of ice cream for 5.50. What in the actual F? I walked into new leaf right next door and they had quality pints such as van leewen for 5.99. They roasted me good, I’ll give them that.

3 Penny in Aptos is a nice large clean space.

It’s a great spot for something special to treat yourself or buy a special sweet gift.

I stopped in to get a birthday dessert for a friend in Aptos. My friend was out of the office when I arrived with the frozen Bon Bons I picked up from 3 penny.

My friend did not get their B-Day dessert that day. I had to eat it because it was frozen & it was delicious. ;)

The chocolate bon bon on the outside of the ice cream was really rich and tasty. Went well with the ice cream inside.

Nice location by the New Leaf & Cluster of other shops in the heart of Aptos behind the historic Bay Hotel.
