Amazing cocktails but we ordered Brussels sprouts that were terrible! Both under and overcooked. I told the server they were bad and she handed us the check before even clearing the table with the uneaten sprouts ..we won’t return

I've been to Venus several times and have always had a great experience. This time we went with a large party for a birthday. This time was different than all other time as the waitresses explained to us that we all needed to put our entire order in at on time. As in we needed to all immediately decide what we wanted for appetizers and entrees and order it all at once. The food was good and we had a good time. But it felt weird, rushed and definitely not like the customer was being heard or valued. It felt stressful to have a large group all decide everything at once. It put a damper on the dining experience. If this is the new rule, I don't think we will be back. When you're spending that much on a meal I think you should be able to order appetizer, relax, check out the menu and have a good time.

We live the location unfortunately we didn't have a good experience with the food or the service. The cocktails were great though.

It was hot and noisy inside so we sat outside on the patio. The heater at our table didn't work. They seem to have too few heaters and no replacements for a beach location. Food was good though so no complaints in that regard.

Wonderful dinner during restaurant week. We ate outside, which was very dog friendly. Our pup enjoyed the pup patty and we enjoyed our dinner.

The restaurant week menu was fantastic! The entrees should be regular menu items, especially the lobster risotto.

The salmon croquettes were great. Hope they include them in their regular menu. The lobster risotto was great. Server was good. Fantastic seafood restaurant!

Overall good experience with the food at this restaurant. The only negative was a loud group of 6 were seated nearby and made it difficult to carry on a conversation with my wife. We didn't try any of the spirits which the establishment is renowned for.

The prix fixe was a good value, the food was DELICIOUS, and the service was excellent. Just FYI with wine and cocktails you will end up spending quite a bit more than you expected LOL. Noise level actually was not bad, considering the fact that most restaurants these days are obscenely loud.

We went for restaurant week and the food and drinks were all excellent. Highly recommend. I love the linguini and clams and my husband had the salmon. Cocktails were all so delicious

We visit Aptos several times a year and we nearly always dine at Venus. The food is consistently very good and the atmosphere is nice, although a bit noisy. Our party of 3 all has the miso salmon, it was very good and offered some unique flavors and ingredients.

From the start, it sucked . Ordered drinks that took 20 minutes to get. Then, our waitress told us that we couldn't order appetizers before our entrees, which has never happened, ever. Still, we manned up and ordered apps and entrees. Both appetizers pretty much sucked, cold focaccia @$3 a slice and almost inedible smoked chicken liver mousse on stale bread. Summe risotto was bland and cold. Linguine and clams was barely edible and I sent back my NY steak that was so chewy as to be a solid no. Waitress actually said that the owner “likes the steak that way” unreal. The waitress actually tried to smooth over the situation with a couple of dixie cup sized drinks , which she didn't describe and just placed in front of us? All in all a bad experience that we will never endure again. Too bad cuz Cafe Rio was the spot for many years, oh well...
