Well done! Six of us had the best time at Venus beachside! The remodel is gorgeous, the food dee-lish, and the staff was super attentive. The food and drinks are always the best at every Venus location! We were so happy to see the place busy and everyone having a good time. Let's all support this wonderful restaurant....I know my friends and I plan on returning often!

Go-to local restaurant! Upscale eating and drinking so close to home is the best. Venus spirits are so fine and the service is really great. Even thought they were short a server last night, the staff made an extra effort to take care of their customers. Mushroom soup was light, but tasty and satisfying. Can't say enough good things about the changes here. Bravo!
I love the cocktails, the food is well prepared. It is no to formal or loud to take well behaved older kids (K and above). The acustics makes it a little loud for a relaxing talk, but the ambience is great.

Disappointed with service. I have been to Westside location and loved the food and service. I made reservations on Open Table to celebrate my wedding anniversary and when arrived was informed that our table was ready outside… on a chilly night. I don’t remember outside table being a choice. When asked how long of a wait for an inside table, hostess reply was “it’ll be a while” with a we’re very busy take it or leave it attitude. Maybe she’d had a bad day and had to work that night against her wishes. Might try going another night, but we ended up at another restaurant we hadn’t tried and found food and service excellent.

When in finally came, we ordered a wedge salad and fish and chips, the fries were cold. How long was it sitting there if the fries could get cold? Other tables around us had also ordered the fish and chips and got 3 large-medium pieces of fish, we had two small strips. And again, the fries were cold. Clearly there was some problem with the kitchen, not sure what. The bussers were the best trained staff there, very sweet. And our server offered to comp a dessert-we declined as we just wanted to get out of there. They comped the focaccia, but given the wait they should have comped our drinks. We waited another 15 minutes for her to run the credit card. Sadly, this experience left us not wanting to come back ?

Fun menu appropriate for all ages, interesting and delicious cocktails and a fun atmosphere right across from the beach. Second time I've had dinner there and this time with a large group of 10 people. Everyone liked their food and the service. We will be back.

The appetizers were wonderful. We had the Brussels sprouts and calamari. The flavors were incredible. Our dinner choices were not good. I had the lobster roll and house chips. The lobster was bland and dry. The chips were too salty. My husband had the wedge salad and fish & chips. Again, the fries were over salted. The fish was chewy and the batter was greasy. The salad was supposed to have a gin soaked egg and there was no evidence of that. We will go again during happy hour as food offerings for happy hour were much better than the dinner options.

1. Host should not offer a table and then advise us he needs it open for a larger party in less than an hour. 2. Soup arrives 10 minutes before cocktails. 3. Cocktails took 15 minutes to arrive. 4. The noise level would better be described as high. 5. The Venus martini was unlike any you have served before, seemed slightly salty. Very different from what I get at the tasting room on the west side.
The crab special that was advertised, and that we came for, was sold out by our 7pm seating. Not happy, but the entrees we chose were good to very good. Our first time here, we were surprised by the volume level. It was just talking, but we could hear tables both next to us and several feet away. We had eaten at a larger venue in San Jose yesterday evening and the comparison was noticeably louder at Venus. Service was good, but overall we weren't thrilled.

Our food and cocktails were amazing, the service was delightful and smooth, even on a very busy Friday night. The prices were jaw dropping however, even for Aptos. And it was quite noisy inside.

Food was decent, servers were pleasant, clean, nice ambiance but there were issues: took forever to get our food even though it was early and not too crowded, our dirty dishes never got picked up yet there was a water guy who's sole job was to fill our glasses--every 5 minutes it seemed. How about he take some of those dirty dishes away? 2 long hours later we were done with our simple dinner. Don't think I'll be going back.
