Food is absolutely phenomenal here! We got the hummus with flatbread, beef and lamb gyros, and the pepperoni pizza. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. The flatbread and pizza they cook in a brick oven right in the middle of the kitchen for everyone to see. Doesn't get better than that! The pizza sauce was also very herbaceous and flavorful. Gyros meat just melted in your mouth it was so tender and moist. 10/10!

It's been a pretty good eating experience every time I've been here. The menu, while not the most expansive thing out there, has a lot of good options with the Mediterranean burgers being an excellent choice. The staff is friendly for the most part and the atmosphere is nice although it can get a bit crowded when it comes to table spacing at times. Wait times can be a little longer than expected as well but overall a good place to grab lunch.

I am bummed to be writing this, considering I have been a customer here since they first opened years ago. I believe in supporting local and am from Santa Cruz. I am very disappointed in the customer service and the food quality. Both were far below my expectations and what I had experienced in the past. My husband and each ordered a shrimp rice bowl that was $15 each and normally the bowl has been a good portion of food considering the price point. Our rice bowls had less than half the normal amount of rice they had in the past and looked as if they were a child's portion. There was barely any shrimp as well. I called to voice my disappointed feedback and the employee said that the owner has decided to cut down the portions of the amount of rice at both the capitola and Aptos location. Definitely not worth the $15. The woman at the front who was taking orders, was rude to me when letting me know my to-go food was ready. Overall, I am extremely disappointed and do not recommend this place for their bowls. If you want a good rice bowl for the price point and quality, and to also support local businesses, head over to Amazon Juices to get a great helping of food for an appropriate price point.

Horrible to-go service. They open at noon. Being time-crunched, I placed an online order at 11:10. Confirmation said the order would be ready at 12:20. Made sense. I arrive at 12:20. I waited for abour 7-8 minutes before finally telling the girl at the register that I was waiting for a to-go order. She asked my name, looked at some receipts and said, "Your order will be up in a few minutes" I waited until about 12:38, watching to go order after to go order going by. I finally asked, "how many more to go orders are ahead of me?" They asked my name again and they said they didn't have an order for me. What?! I showed them my confirmation and they said, oh, our printers must be down. The manager told the young girl at the register to tell the cook to make mine next. 10 minutes go by and the manager checked on my order and the register girl never told the cook anything so the manager finally had to make my order herself. NO apology, NO, "hey sorry, here's a free bakalva", nothing at all. They just acted like a 55 minute wait for a to go order is just fine. I won't be going back.

32 minutes after ordering food, the side of falafel came out. 38 minutes after ordering, my gyros bowl came out. 43 minutes later and my husband's pizza has not yet arrived at the table. 3 other tables arrived after us and got food before our food even started coming out. As I was writing this, my husband went up to ask about his pizza. I've watched at least 3 pizzas go out in to go orders since the falafel came out. He is back now with his pizza that was marked "to go." Say, "we don't care about our dine in diners" without saying "we don't care about our dine in diners." To add insult to injury, they got the order in the gyros bowl wrong (I asked for cous cous not rice). Oh, and it turns out the table next to us didn't get one bowl with the rest of everyone's food either. Also, you have to ask for a knife if you'd like to cut anything. Only forks were set out on the tables. A disappointing Friday night for sure and it isn't like the place is packed. Disappointing.

Was taken here for my birthday, ordered the Veggie Bowl, checked to see if the dressing was dairy-free, told them I was vegan. They brought the lunch, took the first bite, CHICKEN!!! Went to the counter told the staff- the other staff asked her what was the problem, my server's response was "She SAYS that there is chicken in her food", in a very disrespectful and unbelieving tone of voice. She came back to the table, after much chatting we discovered that SHE, who was the person we gave the order to, gave us the wrong bowls!! My friend and I switched bowls. SHE NEVER ONCE APOLOGIZED! It seems as though there is no understanding about peoples life/diet choice. What if someone had Celiac disease and she gave the wrong dish to them? They said that sometimes they get confused because they get busy. There was only 1 other party in the restaurant. I don't think that they take the customer's interests and stated needs seriously.

In addition to the inconsistent closing times, the manager's demeanor further tarnished my experience. Their mean and rude behavior created an unwelcoming atmosphere, making the dining experience not only unreliable but also unpleasant. It's disheartening when poor management extends to customer interactions, leaving me with a negative impression of this establishment.

Ordered a margherita pizza and a gyro wrap. Pizza was extremely undercooked with way too much cheese, and I could taste the raw uncooked dough in the crust. Pizza was also missing the basil. Needless to say I didn't finish it. The wrap was slightly more edible but extremely salty and hard to eat, and it tasted like the oil the meat was cooked with was not fresh either. Not a good experience.

I’ve been a big fan of Zameens for years but the Aptos branch has really gone downhill. I’ve had 3 wraps in a row: one I couldn’t eat- lamb meat was bad. The other two I could barely finish. Bread is cheap now and tough, shrimp were few and lettuce was just a filler. Hope they get their standards back. And get rid of that lamb- horrible!
