I had actually just tried Black Bear for the first time where I'm from, in Tulsa, OK, about a month before my visit to the Arvin, CA location. The Tulsa experience was great, so I was quick to stop at the Arvin location when I saw it. It did not disappoint. The food and service were both great. I was following a band on tour in the area and my server(Tasha, I believe) had similar music interests and offered great conversation. Will return if I'm ever in the area again.
This theme diner is very cute. A comfortable place for dinner. They worked with our large group of students and got food out quickly and hot. I will say that the portions are huge, a few teens could not finish. But they all liked their food and the staff worked very hard to make sure we were happy. Leave room for the huckleberry icecream because its very tasty.

I usually go to black bear diners because they have great food/portions and you really get your money's worth. This staff at this black bear particular location were some of the nicest staff I've seen at any of the diners. They were very friendly and you can tell the whole staff got along with each other because they would joke around a lot seems like a real family here. I think my waitress name was Kinsey and she was great
