While I can’t speak to how this place compares to other locations as I’m fairly new to the wine scene, this place has certainly set a standard that I will be gauging future outings to. My girlfriend and I stayed at Avila for our anniversary and decided to try out this location, and I’m glad we did. I unfortunately can not recall the name of the blonde woman who served us, but she made the visit a pleasant experience. From giving us detailed descriptions of the wines, to making sure our glasses were not empty for too long, and for sweetly giving us some extra samples to taste when she learned about our anniversary, she really did make our wine tasting a great one. I hope someday in the future we will be able to stop by again!
We visit the area annually and always make time for Alapay. Over the last couple of years we have had different servers during our tastings. All the servers have been great.
This visit, April 2025, we had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer. Her knowledge of the wines was informative and her timing between pours was good. We had enough time to try different items from a charcuterie board with the different wines.
The live music was mellow and very comfortable making the atmosphere enjoyable. Not that you need the music but it's very nice when they do have it.
This is one of our favorite places.
Oh yeah, the wines are all very good. The wife likes whites and I prefer reds, however when we taste we both seem to cross over a bit. So I guess with that said, you will definitely find some that everyone will enjoy.
Our favorite is the Rebekah Cab. Unbelievable great taste.
Great Winery. My wife and I loved 7 out of 9 wines
Wine tasting here is 7 samples of wine for 25 usd. The lady working there told me that today they were pouring some extra samples from the bottles they opened and normally dont serve. Hmm. That meant one extra sample that she offered, and one that I asked for because I wanted to try their pinot blanco.
She gave us some basic info on each sample that we were trying.
The wines were interesting enough, but not very surprising.
Gratuity is only possible to pay in cash, which is bit weird, as we are not used to carry cash.
Here in Avila on a family trip. We walked in looking forward to a wine tasting. My mom was told to seat ourselves. While looking for a place to sit, we were confronted by Sandy and who told to us leave. She said it was due to me being drunk despite me not having anything to drink all day. She was very rude and it really put a sour experience on the trip.
I was in Avila for my 62 birthday and wanted to go wine tasting with my adult children (25 and 26). While I was in the bathroom, as they were looking for seats, they were asked to leave the winery. The pouring person Sandy thought they were intoxicated and refused them service. That was so far from the truth, it was laughable. We will not ever be back.
Horrible experience here. Was having a very nice day, went on a walk to Fat Cats (3 mile walk round trip),
and walked back into town. Was planning to go here for wine tasting and was looking for a table to sit down. As we were looking for a table, this woman named Sandy came up to us and told us we would not be served. We were very confused and asked why and she said it was because we were “too drunk and stumbling around” despite not having anything to drink all day. She was very rude and asked us to leave. We had literally not done anything but walk in and look for a seat. We were in the place for maybe 1 minute when she came up to us. Very, very horrible experience.
Well, we all know I go to a lot of wineries. This is one of my new favorites. It is one of only two champagnes that I’ve ever truly liked enough that I bought an entire case to have shipped home. I also bought two of the desert wines. Honestly, every single one of the Reds I had was smooth and delicious and I wish I had them all in my collection. It’s one that I will have to go back to even if it cost me an entire airline flight just to go here. I want to spend more time at this one. They are all small batches and are not available anywhere else. Worth every penny. It’s on the corner not the one next to. It is just a liquor store that does tastings. I don’t know why Google maps has it that way. This is a true winery tasting room. And on top of that they have a lot of cute gifts. The staff was wonderful. The owner was magnificent. True dedication to the art. Thank you so much for the experience.
Our favorite tasting when we visit. Lots of pours, friendly & the wine is actually good. Fyi if you bring kids you may end up buying trinkets;)
The atmosphere is quiet and chill, the tasting was fun and informative, and the staff were amazing!

This place has all the best wines. And some of the best beers!
This winery is a must visit!!! The owner Scott is AWESOME!!! The wine is so good, the ambiance is lovely, if you visit Avila, you have to make a stop here, you will love it!
Love the Port. Everything else is great too. Over and out.
The red wines were ALL delicious, and Sammy poured nice sized tastings. She was delightful and friendly. Was pleasantly surprised the tasting price is waived with one bottle purchased. A really nice gift selection. High recommend!
Great wine. Live music on Wednesday
