A SLO County Classic! Busy on the weekends but always a family favorite with a great beer selection, a solid menu, acai bowls and now ice cream!
Food was garbage. Philly Cheese Steak was goopy with no presentation. The fries looked like they died. Poke bowl was ok nothing special. The street corn was dry. The kale salad was flat.
We went on a Friday morning hoping to get acai bowls and even though it was completely open with lights on, there was a sign saying there was a staff shortage so no one was there. So that was a bummer. I have been on the weekend before and ordered food at the upstairs window (got sweet potato fries) and it was PACKED. Edit: gave another star since we went before the counter opened, and I have gone in the past and their food was good. (I would just recommend for them to state more clearly on their website that the downstairs opens later than the upstairs.)
Good Cafe food, good portion of food worth your money. Amazing view of the beach and pier. Great staff, inside and outside seating areas.
Was surprisingly one of the best meals in Avila Beach. Very yummy breakfast burritos and a ton of beer, wine, and other supplies available.
Everything that we ate here was delicious and well prepared. From the fish and chips (love that tartar sauce...would love the recipe actually), grilled fish tacos, deli sandwich and the clam chowder was the bomb and perfect for a soft diet after a surgery. Wish we lived closer.
Casual lunch with a great view. Friendly service. Fish and chips was fresh. Fries made right. Light beers on tap paired nicely with food.
The smoothie bowls are a must have when visiting Avila Beach. So good! I went back for another one the following day. I also had the tacos….they were ok but nothing fantastic.
Hamburger and fries was $15 in a non restaurant setting. Food was good fastfood, maybe a bit better than In&Out, but at triple the price. Seating was not great. Probably will not go again.
The cans of beer and other stuff downstairs in the market area are priced well, and you can drink then in the indoor seating area upstairs or the open patio area next to that. Your best bet for a bargain beachside drink. Plenty of snacks and stuff on offer too.

I am speechless. I would usually leave a raving review of Avila Market but I simply cannot. I am a frequent beach goer who spends much of my money at the Avila businesses. I bought my lunch as I do and used the restroom. What I didn’t realize was the fact that I dropped my bathing suit top in the restroom. Truly, an honest mistake. By the time I noticed a couple of days had passed. I went to the front and asked if they had a lost and found. The man working said “No, we just keep lost items at the front. What are you looking for?” I said “A bathing suit top, I accidentally dropped in the bathroom” he said “was it sometime last week?” I said “Yes, a couple of days ago” he replied, “was it red?” I said “yes!” with excitement thinking he knew exactly where it was. To which he laughed in my face and replied, “yeah we threw that in the trash”. When I tell you my jaw dropped… I was speechless. I wish I came from a background where I could throw away clothes but I simply do not. Donate it. Give it away. Keep it for two days until I realize it was gone. But in the trash can? To have my belongings thrown away after making an honest mistake is one type of disappointment but to be laughed at when asking for it back is another. Avila Market, you should be extremely disappointed in your employees to say the least.
The food is really good. Great draft beer selection. Location is exceptional.
We purposely stopped through Avila beach for this delicious little stop because it’s so good! I highly recommend it and I don’t say that often. ?☺️?My only suggestion though, they let you try the flavors so make sure you tell them what you like! I love the Blue Magic and Matcha flavor the most, not a big fan of the açaí flavor itself.
$15 for cold cut sandwiches of ordinary quality.$15 for a Summer Style salad that has all wilted greens. Call me picky but I just expected something better. I could've done better from a gas station deli on the way there.
The food was surprisingly good for a take out only option. We tried the burgers, tacos and Philly cheese steaks and they were all good. Portions were large so we often got two meals out of them. There is also a market for basic needs and some souvenirs.
