Blue Moon Over Avila is a total 5-star experience across the board. We had the wine flights and loved how fun and well-curated they were—perfect for trying a variety while enjoying the Avila Beach vibes. My wife ordered the Duck à l’Orange and it was absolutely delicious, and I went with the trio combo (Croque Monsieur, Caesar salad, and French onion soup) which was the perfect mix—everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.
Shoutout to our waiter Jazz—he was incredibly friendly and his customer service was truly top notch. He made us feel welcome and honestly elevated the whole night. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

Ordered Blue Moon Sangria. Waiting for another drink for 30 min. Still sitting here and no one coming to ask. Am going to walk to the front now to ask for service. Ill just ask for the check. Only reason its 2 stars is the sangria is good. Reason why our waiter never arrived” there is only 2 of us”. Annie said the salad is good.

The staff at Blue Moon was exceptional, enhancing the excellent cuisine with their charming demeanor and friendly conversation. Server Bella and Manager Jason were particularly outstanding. The portions were plentiful and tasty. Prime rib was delicious and from the looks of it, the branzino will be next on the list.

Had a lovely date night dinner here! We went on a Friday during the winter time, so it wasn’t busy. We made reservations but were easily able to get sat early since we were hungry. We sat outside and even though it was cold there were plenty of heaters to make it comfortable. The view right next to the beach was wonderful!
The staff was very friendly and made pleasant conversation with us about recommendations and the area.
The food was just as delicious! We shared the baked bree starter, then split the lobster roll, with salad, and the croque monsieur with clam chowder and salad (which was my favorite). Had we not been stuffed, we would have tried one of the desserts as well.
Good date night spot, or a gathering with friends. Overall a super cute spot by the beach with a variety of cozy meals and pleasant atmosphere!

We live locally in San Luis Obispo. My daughter and I have eaten here probably half a dozen times over the years but this past week we did a birthday staycation in Avila and have eaten here 3 or 4 times while here. We took my 8 year old granddaughter (her birthday AND my “grandmas” birthday). I have had scallops, Duck à l'orange, French onion soup and my daughter had mushroom raviolis. Tonight I did the Beef bourguignon. Dessert was Beignets. I find the food and service consistent and highly recommend. We love it!

Four of us dined here on Wednesday. One very pleased and one moderately. My wife got scallops that didn't light her hair on fire - just ok. My strip steak was huge but was the toughest cut of meat I have ever been served in my life. Thank the Lord that my mashed pot were good.
The food served *never* came by to ask how things were. I would have sent my steak back. On a positive note, the wine was very good.
Avila Beach is one of our fave vacation spots, thanks to a couple of friends who have a place there. But we're never going back to this restaurant - there are just too many good ones a few miles down the road.

Good food. Wonderful view if you sit outside. I always have great service. Depending on the time of the day and year, parking may be easy. Super easy parking during the off season, when all the tourist go home.

Nice location, nice pleasant indoor and outdoor space. Wine was excellent! Server was grumpy or having a bad night not sure, the host and busgirl were great though. Food was just bad. No way to sugarcoat it. Appetizer, salad and main were all very average and I went home and had a bowl of cereal.

We were excited to dine here for my wife’s 60th birthday celebration, the menu looked delicious. Unfortunately they called me 1 evening before to inform us our reservation had been cancelled because someone bought out the restaurant for the evening. Very disappointed they would cancel our reservation, this is low class and dishonest. Chasing money over customer service. Very disappointing.

My husband and I had dinner here. It seemed like a nice spot where we could listen to the live music on the promenade. However, they sat us in a highly trafficked area with the sun blasting in our faces. When we asked to move to a table that just left (we hadn't been served yet), the terrible server would not let us. We ordered olives as a snacking appetizer, but they were so incredibly salty. I love salty foods, but I had to rinse these with my glass of water. Then I was looking forward to the lobster roll, again, it was so salty I could barely eat it. I ended up removing the lobster from the roll and mixing it with the greens. My husband says the french onion dip was good, though. I woulnd't go back.
