Love the Custom House but very disappointed in their new menu. Bring back your classsic shrimp cocktail. Whatever that is you are trying to serve now as a shrimp cocktail is not shrimp cocktail. You should not mess with perfection. Don’t know that I will have a reason to come back without it.

My wife and I stopped at UC Custom House for lunch during our first visit to Avila Beach this week and we were so glad we did. The food was fantastic and the staff even better. We started with the beef street tacos, which were well prepared and very tasty. We then each had the fish and chips. The fish was nice an crunchy on the outside and tender and flaky on the inside, and the Old Bay fries were perfectly prepared and extremely flavorful. The best part of our experience was Ben, our server. He was welcoming, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. He answered our questions about menu items and provided excellent suggestions which all hit the spot. The restaurant was very busy, but the noise level was very comfortable and the staff was very efficient and attentive. We will be sure to return during our next visit to Avila Beach.
