On a long journey north to Paso Robles, a stretch of the legs, some fresh ocean air and a delicious coffee and ice cream refreshment is just the ticket. Hula Hut has a great selection of ice cream flavors and is perfectly located right on Front Street to take your treats and go sit and enjoy. Parking We parked in the Avila Public Parking lot on First Street. Street parking is available but an open spot is always hard to find and this lot always has spaces. Its not free, or cheap, but worth it to skip the hassle of driving around for ages trying to find an open space elsewhere.

So we thoroughly enjoyed this shop's sweet treats and beach themed signs and gift items!! The manager is a laid-back man who we found honest to interact with; it was refreshing and humorous. Sitting with ice cream in their outdoor table and chairs was a great ending to the day for our kid and us. Hubby and 9-y.o. son got a kick out of the extreme chocolate flavor Motor Oil!As the saying goes, appreciate the little things. Our family drove 2 1/2 hours to bring my mother-in-law to the beach since she flew from an inland state. She uses a walker and enjoys the beach air and vibe so much regardless of her limited mobility. I'm currently going through an extremely tough time. Thus, a peaceful day at the beach was much needed for us all--and we found that at Avila Beach, including and especially spending time at this shop!More people need to take a daily humble pill, become emotionally intelligent, and/or perhaps learn to be the sunshine in someone elses day rather than expect to always be on the recieving end, as you never do know what battles other people are fighting.Everyone's a super critic aren't they--so quick to condemn a place over a single coffee, meal, or just a glance. Can't humans just live amongst humans anymore!? Maybe the glance had nothing to do with you. Maybe the latte or meal wasn't what you were expecting. Everything has to be perfection standard, apparently. This entitled world is saddening.Wheelchair accessibility: There were no issues moving through the shop using a rolling walker with seat. Walkways and turns were wide enough.

I’m sure this place has its strengths but if you are looking for a latte or a cappuccino DO NOT GO HERE. The espresso tastes sooooo bad :(

Cute store with ice cream, baked goods and drinks. Good selection of apparel as well and better prices than some in the area.

Terrible customer service. I asked for a scoop of ice cream. I noticed the server scooped 2 scoops. I just wanted to make sure that they heard I asked for a scoop only. The server literally said they should close the store and started over right in front of me. Not only that, they made faces. I’m very confused what they meant by closing the store while serving the I cream to me though it is not closing time yet. I never left a revie but this staff was so terrible that I had to leave one.

A nice corner cafe for lunch with large windows to look into the beach walk. It's air conditioned too. There are delicious deli sandwiches, soft drinks, coffee and ice cream to enjoy. Or you could browse around the gifts they have to offer. The staff is really friendly and the service is quick.

Tourist trap , advertising boba but reality is they serve dishwater with old boba pearls.skip it ! No need to drink this and waste your money. They would never make in LA.

Ice cream is the best! Customer service top notch.

The shop itself is very cute with lots of overpriced but aesthetically pleasing things for your home or garden. I ordered a couple of boba drinks which were terrible. They were both watered down and flavorless; to the point that we could not drink them. A total waste of money. I also picked up a few snacks and energy drinks, sparkling waters, etc. I expected to pay a lot more which is no biggie when you buy these things at a place where tourists pass through. The biggest problem to me was the customer service or the lack thereof. A young man who was working the front was very chatty and cordial with a guest before me. He greeted her with eye contact and a smile. He mentioned that he was from Bakersfield and attending Cal Poly, etc. He asked if she wanted her receipt, made more small talk, and wished her a great day. He did not use any of these exemplary customer service skills on me whatsoever. He literally was a different person when he took my order and checked me out. I will not be back.

The owner is grumpy, does not seem grateful for customers. His staff is amazing the only reason we go back.
