This spot wasn’t the easiest to get to with limited parking, but to be fair, it was a sunny Saturday so crowds were expected. The coffee and ice cream did not disappoint! We used to visit Kraken when they were in Pismo and were surprised to learn they’d moved, but luckily found them at their new location. Enjoyed a great view with my cup of coffee while wrapping up some work!

Excellent coffee right by the beach. They have limited seating in the loft which was all taken. Service is a little slow since there was only one barista for hot beverages. No complaints though because the coffee was great.

They sell out of their breakfast stuff, vegan or otherwise, so get there early to guarantee you'll get one. It is REALLY good, is a large portion, and comes with salsa and hot sauce on the side.
They are primarily a coffee shop and have plant based milk options for your coffees and teas.

This place was soo cool and amazing. Great staff, food, drinks, and brand clothes. I got a ice matcha latte with vanilla syrup it was SO good very flavorful. I recommend coming here. The prices were very good for the item. Even has a second floor loft to sit and work. Everybody there was also so nice. It was my first time going there and most likely it won't be my last, im coming here whenever I come to Avila.

This is a coffee place, yet the female employee my sweet elderly mother encountered today acted like it was too much of an imposition to actually make a coffee at all and couldn't even tell her what pastries were available without an attitude. I wonder how many customers she's driven away before. Not sure if she was just having a bad day or if she just hates her job - not that either is an excuse - but yikes.

I have been to Kraken a few times in Avila and a few times in Pismo. I am really sad to see that service has gone downhill. It's a rainy Monday morning, but you had 3 staff working the front counter, the cashier was on his phone as we walked in, put it down, took our order, and then picked it right back up and kept scrolling. The other two baristas were pleasant enough but were chatting it up amongst themselves. Truly, only the girl was helpful after my husband told her I spilled my coffee while trying to get the lid on. She cleaned up my cup and the floor area. We tried to tell the cashier first, but he was too busy scrolling on his phone. I rarely put negative reviews, but when you have customers in your shop, you should be attentive. There were other customers upstairs, and when a family left, they didn't even say goodbye. Please do better when it comes to customer service. It does matter.
