We walked in about 11am on a Sunday and the crowd followed us, be aware they have live music often. They were setting up when we got there, but had not stared when we left about an hour later.

Generous portion of food, burger was delicious, wings good and spicy and fries plentiful. Kate, the bartender is a cheery, fun and efficient hostess!

Definitely worth a stay to watch the game!

My brother waited several minutes and was ignored by the bartender. Even though he waited patiently. I noticed everyone else was served except him. I’m glad they are open about their discrimination. I don’t like spending money where my family is not welcomed.

It had been 20+ years since I last visited Mr. Ricks and this will be the last as the owners have decided to merge it with their other operation The Custom House next door.
It used to be a nice little place further up the hill with a dtunning view of the bay, now it is down the beach with all the other restaurants and shops.
The bar tender was cool and dug up.one of the last Mr. Ricks sweatshirts for me.
Sad day.

Was an interesting spot, food is way overpriced for how it tastes and is presented. For $20 the food should be on an actual plate not like I’m at a cafeteria. The music was blasting and would pause and skip randomly. Overall not the best experience and too pricey for what you get.

The upgrade is gorgeous
It’s been a few years since I’ve been here but the last time it was a dive. Fun live music. Good drinks. And pet friendly!!

Food was excellent. The standouts were the best fries and clam chowder we’d ever had. The service is fast and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. They are dog friendly and even have a menu just for dogs. Our Maltipoos shared the “Marley and Meat” and loved their meals. We all agreed that Rick’s was our favorite meal of this vacation, and we will be back next time in Avila Beach.

Came out of town with friends and decided to stop here for dinner before heading home. Show up at 630 and its closing at 7 on a Saturday... so we place our order for 3 tri tips 2 mixed drinks and a soda with an order of onion rings. Came out to 100 dollars. Food came. Extremely dry no bbq sauce or anything. Order of onion rings cake with 3 small burnt onion rings. Went up to counter.to order another side of fries blonde lady was extremely rude. Very bad service and bland food for 100 dollars... Should be ashamed of the food and service that was provided..

THE RIBS, the main reason I want to write this review is just say how absolutely magnificent the ribs are, not only are they perfectly cooked and seasoned, but there so much meat on the bone perfect rib! The clam chowder is really good too if you like a perfect rich flavor. Also the atmosphere is amazing and people are too, I highly recommend come here!
