Never have I ever paid $35 for fajitas.I split the entree with my husband and was charged $3.I asked for extra tortillas and was charged $3. The food was mediocre at best. One meh entree, 2 glasses of wine, 1 beer plus tip $100???If you want to have Mexican dinner in Los Osos, grab take out in Pismo and find a picnic table.

La Palapa is an excellent Mexican Restaurant situated near the pier in quaint Baywood Park. They make their own tortillas and serve them freshly warm. They have a great variety of dishes including a nice selection of local seafood. Their vegetarian enchiladas with mole sauce (not on the menu) are incredible! They don't charge extra for the house made chips and salsa that start off the meal. All the entrees I have sampled there have been good or better. The ambiance of the place is colorful Mexican with local artist (like John Ramos) works on the walls. The service is efficient and friendly. La Palapa is our regular local spot for an affordable and tasty dinner in a warm and comfortable restaurant. This place is a gem.

I have been eating here for several years and I'll just say this place is Simply amazing Mexican food and a very nice atmosphere with amazing bay views. Every item they make is a step above the others. Sauces, salsas are seasoned perfectly. The meats are top notch and also wonderfully seasoned and not bland. The drinks are also amazing. Food portions are very generous. Our family of 6 loves this eatery and considers it the best Mexican food in slo county and we have tried them all. My Wife is Mexican, and she grew up cooking authentic recipes from her Mother so she knows.. I'm not saying it's strictly authentic but it's higher end , and well thought out food. Their hours are occasionally sporadic but seriously you will not be disappointed. I'm guessing some cranky's marked them down a half star for that but if I could give 6 stars I would.

Came here with my family we enjoyed the carne asada with shrimp. Also the carnitas, and shrimp a la diabla. Food was good here. The service was quick. Don't let the loneliness fool you. It's actually by far the best Mexican food restaurant there is here in Los Osos. I definitely recommend.

I can’t judge the food, we did not go- fajitas plate is 35.00 a quesadilla is 15.99… a soda (no refills) is 4.99 - this is my first non eating review, but the prices for lunch simply outweigh actually eating there- do yourself a favor and enjoy the high street deli next door!

Chips with salsa & guacamole are great. My man always orders the same taco salad with veggies & chicken..He loves it!I love shrimp in butter & garlic. Aka Camorones Al mojo de ajo. I love making it!! For $34 you would think it would be the best!! My shrimp had a mountain of un cooked garlic that had a cooked lime flavor. Ugh! Translucent garlic with a salty butter is what you expect. It’s not even worth sharing the rest of the experience. I’ll try something else next time. More guacamole and chips :) They nailed that! Lol

Best Mexican food in town. There's usually a wait, but that's what it takes to make each order when it's ordered. I compare their food to other Mexican restaurants when I travel. No one comes close.Vegetarian options: The Veggie burrito it delicious

What a nice dinner we had. The hand-made corn tortillas with butter are so delicious. The staff is very friendly, the servings are generous, and the food is so good. The restaurant is owned and run by a family, and children are welcome.

This place could be great but it's not. The staff is too interested in coming in late and closing early. They love to say that they are not corporate and can set their own hours. That might be true, but their customers can get tired of being jerked around and spend our money somewhere else.

I had just finished up a hike and was craving Mexican food, found La Palapa on Yelp and it was only a few miles away. It's a very cute and vibrant place, lots of natural light with a view of the water. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door, and enjoyed a table by the window. Server was very friendly and attentive. There was a steady stream of people coming in and she managed the whole floor herself. She brought the chips and salsa... oh. My. Gosh! Chips were still warm and the salsa rocked! I ordered the Mexican Shrimp Cocktail and it was THE BIGGEST and THE BEST I've ever had! The server said her mom makes it fresh and you can tell she sure does. I will definitely be back.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant anywhere ? They have the best fajita tostada, which is more like a salad bowl. The meat is high quality, and the servings are huge! Everything is homemade.
