Bartender Daniel was great. The signature cocktails are all his concoctions and they were very well balanced and unique. Drink pictured is "The Corduroy"

Cozy restaurant with great food and drinks. We really liked chicken wings and fried chicken burgers. Our drinks were great and priced so reasonably. Very friendly staff.

Motel six looks like the Ritz Carlton next to this. Walls are paper thin. Worst place I’ve ever stayed manager was less than helpful. Compared to Tahoe this is a joke. I have to write a minimum of characters, but you must have an idea of what I think of this place. One star is too high.

We had our dream wedding in September 2019 at Bear Valley Lodge. Starting on Friday night, we welcomed guests with pizza, beer, and salads at Sky High which was relaxing and fun after a day of travel. Family and friends got to enjoy the pool area or go for a hike around Lake Alpine until the late afternoon when we gathered for the ceremony at Bear Mountain. Breathtaking views! The cocktail hour was at Creekside Dining Room and Patio and then dinner and dancing in the Cathedral Lounge. The next day we all enjoyed the hot breakfast buffet at Creekside Dining Room and said farewell to guests. We loved the entire flow of our wedding weekend at Bear Valley offered and the staff were amazing! They were easy to plan with leading up to the wedding and during the day of. All of our friends and family loved Bear Valley!

A great place to stop on your way to winter activities. Pictures are from may but most people have moved on except for a few locals. The lodge has a bar, restaurant, general store and a few other random shops. I would suggest stocking up on supplies before arriving since a 30 mile drive to town can take a hour. Rooms were basic and comfortable. No fridge available in room. Showers in room were not made for tall people and if you leave a bag on the bed housekeeping will not make the bed. Pleanty of free parking and wifi at the lodge was fast for streaming.

My family and I went for the day, to ski and snowboard. It’s was an amazing time. The price was nice, $99 for the 1timers includes everything you need. My boys loved the whole day! They even rent Inner tubes for the little ones $20 for the day. Had a great time! One thing, the do have a ton of restrooms which that was great, but! They are old and I think need to be updated. They do have food, a little expensive I spent $43 on 3 hotdogs 1 freachfry and 3 drinks. They do let you bring your own food. Still had a great time!

In it's glory days The Lodge, Bear Valley, had a pool and sauna. You had best ask management the pool water temperature now. Tobacco would be an improvement over it's damp animal aroma. Beware of the "trip advisor".

While the lodge staff, except for the custodian, is professional, and the food and beverage manager is excellent, this small town has one too many mean spirited jerks who will go out of their way to harm you during your short stay in this small town. If some arrogant local doesn't like the looks of you, they will file a police report and report your car license plate, even if you've done nothing, and the bored out of his mind local "heat" will come ruin your day. Avoid this little, small minded, mean-spirited town all together which means if you must, come look at this lodge and its first floor space, then move on. Avoid this whole little nasty town.

Try the Panti-Freeze - #kvpinmybelly : I helped invent this #cocktail! Three olives cake vodka with Midori. Tastes like #cake batter.
