I LOVE this amazing restaurant. What an incredible menu that is always changing, not to mention the fabulous wine selection and top notch service. One of the items I have tried many times and told all my friends about is the OMG sandwich. There is not a better name as after your first bite you literally will say “oh my God”. I am not going to try to explain it, but you have to try it yourself.I have dined in and done take-out in both LA and SF.Don’t miss this one if you are looking for a great meal. Great spot for both lunch and dinner alone or with a group.
Just saw Heroic was closed in Santa Monica Ca. and will be replacedGasolina Cafe Owner, Sandra Cordero, to Open New Tapas Bar in Santa Monica - SM MirrorFirst saw the OMG sandwich on a Mark Wiens YouTube video when he went to try it. I knew I needed to eventually try it because all of the ingredients sounded amazing.I finally got to try it and it was a big disappointment. The size shrunk, the ingredients were nowhere to be found. One of the best sandwiches was completely misrepresented. The bread that supposedly should be perfectly crunchy on the outside, but soft inside was from the different brand. Roof of my mouth was damaged, and it was not done deliciously with much less ingredients. Looking at the restaurants picture compare what i got was a joke.Got to meet Jeffrey, who was so un polite and grouchy, told him we recognized him from the Mark Wiens videos, he did not care at all. No wonder this business could not survive. Hope in BH he will be serving more consistently, according to his website pictures. This sandwich is not cheep, so the quality has to reflect it.
Excellent sandwiches....some of, if not the very best you can find in Los Angeles. Well deserving of all of the high praise received from numerous industry critics. Highly recommended! Don't miss dinner at the Santa Monica location!!!
You can park up on the curb next to the kiosk temporarily. I had no issues. Not an official spot but there are no signs saying otherwise.Love this spot. Heroic has always been a staple for an amazing sandwich. Try it, I dare you.
Better sandwiches than Bay Cities, in my opinion (the vegan sandwich is awesome) - and then there's the rest of the menu that's by far some of the best Italian in LA. Incredible food and some great wine.
Vegetarian options: Some really incredible veggie options - especially the Vegan sandwich.
Top quality and extremely tasty sandwiches and Italian food. Must eat when you're in LA!
Excellent sandwiches with high quality imported meats. Try the OMG, Quadronno or Branzino. No matter what you choose you can’t go wrong.
Omg! I literally mean that their sandwich, the OMG is fantastic! The branzino sandwich also is so good. This place uses the best bread, best ingredients and the flavors and textures are all balanced. I’ve also had the soup and several salads. Top ingredients and consistent. Im hoping that the open a full scale restaurant somewhere soon.
Run don't walk to this place! Their food is spectacular. They are well known for their sandwiches which are the best in LA. I love the new branzino sandwich, the Mediterraneo. My other go to is the Marinetti, soooooo fantastic. They also have these great little artichoke hearts that are to die for. We eat there for both lunch and dinner. The pastas and shrimp in white wine never disappoint!!
This is simply the best Italian sandwich in California - it’s not cheap but - It is totally worth it. There dinners look awesome - gotta try that pasta…

We ordered two OMG sandwiches, which supposedly to be the best and we truly regret that. The bread was dried and not fresh and the whole sandwiches doesn’t test great, over price and 18% services for to go it was just too much ?. Never go back
Overpriced. Sandwich was cold and bread super dry like few days old. Did not enjoy.
Thank you so much for serving great food keep it up!!! We'll be back soon.... wish you guys serve OC soon!!!We couldn't wait to get home to OC so we have it in the Car!!!
Really, really good, staff had a off night and messed up one of the sox plates. Still a great night.
I’ve past by this stall many times on the Wilshire La Cienega intersection and was surprised to see Heroic Italian took it over. I’ve had their sandwiches at the original Santa Monica location and really liked them so I’m glad it’s closer to me. Great crunchy, ciabatta made in house with imported Italian cured meats. Probably one of the best sando’s in the city.
