I made reservations on the wrong night, but they accommodated us well, even though they were very full, (for a Tuesday night!) the service was very good, the food and drinks were amazing! We will return pronto!

Since more years than I can remember, the Il Pastaio is one of the busiest places in Beverly Hills. Whenever we passed it, there were people waiting to be seated.
Amazingly all our friends were "not so happy" - so we have never been - until yesterday. We had been to an afternoon party and thought we close a nice day with a nice dinner.
We did not have a reservation, but the two of us were promised to be seated within minutes - and were. So generally: thumbs up. However "our table" as well as others were ready to be seated when we arrived already. I would even go as far as to say that all of the people waiting on the street could have been sat immediately. I know it's a tad nasty: but I was lead to believe that it's party of their spiel to show how desirable they are by letting people wait.
Then: the food. Overall: just OK, not great. I was really excited to try if you see he mouthwatering photos online it looks great, but none of our dishes did it for us. We were hoping for authentic, crave-worthy Italian pasta, but ultimately left feeling underwhelmed.
All in all - three stars - minus one for the services. The server decided to start us up with a bottle of sparking water - fine, we would have ordered one anyway. No ask for wine or anything else - not even a wine list. And once we were done with our entrees the waiter cleared our table ... and brought the check.
We went to Salt & Straw for desert then. So sorry, two stars out of five only - could've been better pretty much says it. As we had expected and wanted this to be a five star experience, I would recommend not to go and check out the many other and way better options in the immediate area.

We had to wait fifteen mins standing besides the tables even though we had reservation and we had arrived on time. Food was average except the truffle pasta and arancini.

We drive three hours to eat at this restaurant. It is just so relaxing and peaceful. We enjoy the food. My husband loves Italian food, and I have to be in the mood for it. But, at.Il Pastaio eat their Italian food all of the time. Their Barada is the precious! On this particular day, we were celebrating my birthday. My husband, that the waiter know and he had the chef's sister come out and wish me happy birthday. They also sang to me in Italian and it was so beautiful. They brought out a candle with three little biscotti cookies. It is not a stuffy Beverly Hills restaurant although it is a high scale restaurant. The waiters are always so kind and helpful and friendly. What you pay for the food is nothing compared to the quality of the food and compared to other restaurants in the city. I personally love Justin Bieber pasta. I get it with shrimp we always have the pan of our salad as well and the banana chocolate cream pie. Give it a try. You will not discipline! You may even see a celebrity or two.

We had an amazing meal and really enjoyed the atmosphere, however we did not appreciate the way our waiter handled the ID situation when ordering a glass of wine. My daughter is 21 years old and when she presented her California driver’s license, he accused her of having a fake ID. He said he physically could not serve her, which we could understand if she were underage or if it was a fake ID. He later verified with his manager that the ID was indeed valid, but that should have been his first step if he was unsure. It took away from the enjoyment of what would have been a spectacular evening.
Pasta is done very well. Texture chewy and cooked to al Dante. Sauce was spot on as well, aroma and flavor very rich.

Agnoletti - creamy raviolis stuffed with mushrooms- was really good and tasty! The bread is to die for - homemade and served warm - Our waiter was really nice and classy too! Great dining experience in Beverly Hills!
