It's been a while since I've been to Il Pastaio, and once again, I was floored by the service, quality and value. But best of all is the ambiance combined with the food. The experience here truly is like dining in the best restaurants in Italy. I compare the experience to my favorite places in Rome or Sicily. And Giacomino is a delight--he's personable, kind, and a wonderful host. If you're in the area, run here for the best meal experience you'll have in SoCal.

Weird start, but they recovered. I arrived at 5:00 p.m. for a 6:30 p.m. reservation because my earlier meeting ended sooner than expected. Only a few tables were occupied. I asked to be seated so I could order appetizers while waiting for my guest, but they refused, even after I pressed the point. The hostess directed me to the bar and placed me in the seat directly next to the drink pick-up station, despite the bar being almost entirely empty. I ultimately had to go back into OpenTable and move my reservation to 5:30 p.m. before they would seat me. I understand that arriving ninety minutes early is not ideal, but with nearly all tables open and a reservation already in place for a busier time, the refusal made little sense. That said, the service and the food were excellent; otherwise, the initial experience alone would have warranted a one-star rating.

Perfect table, we chose to sit inside, because the decorations are wonderful and festive, everyone wants to be outside to see and be seen. Service is fantastic and it's cozy. We had Branzino, perfectly grilled. Pasta dishes and salads were spectacular ! Tiramisu was the best I've ever had.

Food is average; got a plastic bag material inside my pasta (apparently came from the mushroom wrap). Waiter behaves like they give you free food. There are a few other Italian restaurants next door with better taste and service.

We arrived with reservations and were seated promptly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience fell short. We were charged for two items we never ordered, and the beverages we requested—a glass of Chianti and a glass of Pinot Noir—were never brought to our table. The ambiance was also disrupted by passing cars revving their engines outside, making it difficult to enjoy our meal. Sadly, we do not plan on returning.

Considering the location of the II Pastaio (Beverly hills), it isn't much pricier than other places. Food is simply delicious. we ordered the lobster pasta and the rabbit pappardelle. Both came out perfect.

It has been a while since I had dined here more than a year ago but I haven't given any review yet. This time everything felt so right. My friend and I ordered the lobster and crabmeat linguini , and green muscles and clams with tomato sauce, wow!!! They are delicious and impressive. I loved every bite of the linguini with crabmeat sauce, the best I ever had , every bite is full of flavors and just the right amount of chewiness, of course with the price of $23+ , one should not expect to have more than one lobster but it's the flavorful sauce that still lingers in my tongue... yummy

Honestly terrible, you'd think they could make the dishes they are famous for correctly but they can't even do that. The vibes are eery and tbh i never understood the hype. The restaurant is too small we went on a busy sunday for lunch and as we were cramped in a corner the table was so small that when the waiter went to grab the menu he spilled water everywhere m level. 1/10

We went there for my daughter's birthday. It was such a great experience. The staff are amazing and took such good care of us. We were a group of 9 and they accommodated all special requests and paid such good attention to us. Thank you, thank you for making this such a special night. Oh, and the food was 100%! All dishes (pasta and meats) were delicious.
