Lucques Catering has been a true highlight for us during the pandemic. We've ordered 3 times so far -- Rosh Hashanah, Thanksgiving meal and recently their Cassoulet dinner. Every meal has been SO delicious from the starters right down to the desserts. It's honestly the best food we've had during the pandemic! So grateful we found them and can't wait to visit their sister restaurants when we can.

We absolutely love Lucques Catering. The meals are always easy to order and simply delicious. We love Cassoulet night and Big Dave's eggnog during the holidays.

How excited was I when they opened Lucques Catering? Almost equal to how depressed I was when Lucques closed. Lucques has been a restaurant that I've enjoyed since it opened. The space was magical and the food always amazing. And the end of the week isn't the same without the possibility of Sunday Supper at Lucques.Several weeks ago, I placed an order for a meal that I had at the restaurant the year before. That meal was sublime and one of my favorites of all the meals I had ever eaten there. I was beyond thrilled to see Lucques Catering offer the meal expecting it to be the same. IT WASN'T.Given that Lucques Catering had just started operating and these are difficult times to operate in, while I was enormously disappointed with the food, I didn't think of the meal as the end of my love of Lucques. What was, however, was the company's lack of taking responsibility for its mistakes. There were several elements of this meal that if we were sitting at the restaurant we would have sent back. But we weren't sitting there. So I called. Left a message. No response. Called again. Nothing. Called again. Nothing. Emailed. Nothing. Emailed again. Nothing. Emailed again. Nothing. UNACCEPTABLE.So if you're thinking about ordering from them or having them cater an event, know that if you have a problem, they don't feel it is their responsibility to resolve it.I should mention that in all the years I have eaten there, I have never sent a meal back. This is not a review I ever wanted to write or thought that I would.

I'm writing as a caterer who has worked with this company for years.PROS- Get to work cool events- Some managers are friendly, communicative, and supportiveCONS- Little respect for serving staff during events - often yelled at, physically moved, forced to carry heavy trays of 6 or more drinks for hours on end without rotation. Military-style treatment.- Poor and mixed communication between managers at events, which often leads to conflicting information being passed to servers. Yet, we get blamed.- Head honcho, Jessica Goin, has a temper, and despite trying to inspire servers with her "how you do one thing, is how you do everything" speeches, is often the first to lose her cool and show disrespect. She is often openly insulting to managers in addition to the servers.- Lucques recently did away with the 8 hour minimum pay guarantee. However, they tell us to block out 8 hours of work even if an event is estimated to be 4-5 hours. What this means is servers are technically "on hold," and therefore unable to secure other paid work. It's actually a significant loss for us, despite the small hourly pay bump.- Lucques used to feed servers decent meals from Trader Joe's. Now it's Subway or cold spaghetti. They also used to let us eat the left over food from events, but now they throw it in the trash - environmentally wasteful.- The company is very much a white boys club. Some institutions hire Lucques for exactly that - good looking white men. The white guys also seem to be the most tight-knit, and the ones moving up the ranks.- The company does not respect the servers time outside of events, and expects us to go through never-ending paperwork additions, self-paid courses, and requirements. A manager wasted 2 hours of my time when he forgot our meeting. I was forced to sign things that I wasn't provided copies of. He couldn't even explain what I was signing. We had to do this again digitally. Our time is valuable, and much of it is utilized without pay or basic gratitude. We should have been reimbursed for the Food Health / Safety course, in my opinion.- Finally, and least surprisingly, Lucques has never done anything nice for its servers to thank them for years of back-breaking work - no community bonding, no holiday bonuses, no parties, meals, gifts. Nothing. We're not even allowed to collect tips. While it's certainly not mandatory, if they want us to care about the quality of work we do, they could start by showing they even care a morsel about us.
