I’m sorry about the significant financial investment, but there should also be investment in staff to improve both service and hospitality.

In such a sophisticated restaurant, it is unacceptable that a lady (perhaps the manager) walks around the dining room with her long hair completely loose.

In an Italian restaurant, we had to ask for bread twice.

Thank God that at a certain point an Italian waiter came to our table; he clearly understood that we were not happy with the welcome and the service.

Marea is definitely an excellent restaurant, and therefore customers have high expectations. In Los Angeles, however, it was a great disappointment.

Marea on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills offers a beautiful setting and a refined Italian seafood experience right in the heart of Los Angeles. The dishes were well presented and full of flavor, especially the pasta and seafood options. The only downside was the long waiting time and a mistake in our order. However, our waitress handled the situation very professionally and kindly offered one of the incorrect dishes, which was a very nice gesture. Service like that really makes a difference. Overall, still a great dining experience in Los Angeles.

Stopped in for drinks on a Friday night on a whim with no reservation. My mistake by expecting a table without reserving one, but the host, Kim, was exceptionally gracious with helping me and my party out. I never felt like an inconvenience as Kim let us know we could help ourselves at the bar until she could get us seated without rushing us out. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a table without inconveniencing reservations that needed to be honored, but between the service at the bar (and the quality of drinks) and the communication from the host team, we left feeling like we had the full Marea experience. Will definitely be back solely for the respect given by the staff (with a resy lol)

Lovely space, excellent service, food is pretty to look at -- I just wish there was more on the menu that I actually wanted to eat.

Arrived at 3:35 PM for lunch (which is advertised until 4 PM) and were told the kitchen was already closed. The dining room had one table seated. Not sure why you post hours you don’t honor. We gladly went to Cipriani instead — where hospitality actually exists.

Felipe you deserve 5 stars! Thank you Felipe and Mike! Felipe made sure that our group was taking care of! He got the candles! He was basically the manager! He came. He asked questions he just made me feel comfortable and at home at the restaurant! The whole group was attended with Felipe there! He also made sure to make jokes! He relieved tension. Why is he not the manager? Please promote him! Taking care of a group of 11 is not easy! Going out of your way to make them feel comfortable is even harder! A very personable experience. Mike gave great recommendations to of the menu. And ordered a good desert.

One note- train the manager on relieving tension when interacting with big groups. She seemed stressed out. I did not come to an expensive restaurant to deal with a tense stressed out manager. This was the only reason I will personally not be returning because of the manager. I came to her to ask for a broom since I’d asked previous waiters for help- not Felipe btw some other waiter I guess he wasn’t the one assigned to our room but the guy never came back and I told the manager we paid for a private venue I need the night to flow smoothly for my friend. Not one apology from the manager she helped but it just felt like I was at ihop. Work in another place if such a simple request would show you are on edge. She didn’t even come back to tell the group welcome and thank you for visiting just no. Anyway my personal note to her- this is the job you chose to be at be welcoming to each guest and make them feel at home like “Felipe” did if you are that tense as a leader your staff will be. Won’t be back because I don’t want to feel like the manager is just waiting for me to leave. Especially as a person of african descent. I’m good I’ll keep my $2600 billion and save it for better leadership. However Felipe was defineilty worth the stay! Promote him to manager please! Very very very professional, funny arm and kind!

Our close friends come often and recommended Marea for Valentine's Day. We were given a nice table. We were not served the complementary Champagne and when we inquired, the server looked annoyed and poured less than 1 cm of fluid in a normal wine glass, barely a splash. Obviously He did not believe us. My wife ordered a second simple Vodka/ Soda and it took over 45 minutes to come. When it arrived, our server said it would be taken off the bill. It was not. I ordered a simple Gibson Martini and it was mediocre (under shaken, ice over melted and tasted watered down) at best. The Prix fix was understandable because of the special occasion but at $225 that is $50/ course not including dessert. None of the courses measured up to that price. In fact, the Halibut was way overcooked/ dry and the steak was obviously a New York, was not tender, was over cooked to specifications and had a fair amount of gristle. The Pancinella salad was so greasy it was inedible. The deserts were very good, however. All in all, a very poor showing for a Restaurant that should really do better. If we had paid $125/ person, we would be more forgiving. But the bill was over $600. Really unacceptable. Never going back

I visited here to celebrate my bdqy. The interior was nice but noisy and distracted.
We also didn't get the bread in the beginning and we noticed later. How the waiter doesn't know about this and take the plate.
Plus..$100 pasta is not really delicious..normal.
But I am really thankful to my waiter. He is really patient and kind. Thank you.

I was really disappointed with my experience. This restaurant advertises itself as elegant and upscale, but the atmosphere was the complete opposite.

During my visit, at least five people from the restaurant started arguing with a guy who was simply skateboarding nearby, and it escalated to them yelling things like “come fight”. It was aggressive, immature, and honestly embarrassing to witness in a place that claims to be classy.

It made the whole environment uncomfortable and felt unsafe. Not the kind of behavior you expect from staff in a restaurant like this. I won’t be coming back.

One of my favorite restaurants from New York has landed in LA. James Beard Award Winning, Michelin-recognized excellence in the heart of Beverly Hills. I love their take on coastal Italian -- the branzino tartare is an addictive dish and the octopus fusilli never fails. There is a reason that's a signature! The Marea Martini is one of my favorite drinks in the city. I love dining in the bar room and they also have some of the best private spaces in the area. I've been multiple times now and it only continues to get better + better each time.
