The Penthouse at Mastro's

The oysters, steaks and butter cake were delicious! We also really enjoyed the outdoor seating in the penthouse and the music playing. Mastros is definitely our go-to for prime steaks and seafood.

Service and food were both fantastic. Wait staff knows the menus and options cold and we're very attentive. Oysters were fresh and delicious, great wine choices, steaks and sides prepared very well. Only complaint was that the music was unnecessarily loud. That made conversation a bit more difficult. Otherwise, exceptional.

Isaac was hands down one of the best waiters we’ve ever had. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared that we had an amazing experience. His menu knowledge and recommendations were spot-on, his timing was perfect, and his energy just made the whole night better. You can tell he truly loves what he does and takes pride in giving exceptional service. He turned a great dinner into a truly memorable one. Ask for Isaac — you won’t be disappointed!

Great restaurant if you’ve never been to a great restaurant.

I can’t believe I’m doing this, but I actually just escaped to the bathroom to leave this review because I’m so unimpressed with my experience here. I share this not to be a hater but because I imagine if you’re coming here it’s for a special occasion or a notable meal, and you won’t be getting that at Mastro’s.

We came here for my father-in-law’s 70th birthday, a fact that restaurant knew. Off the bat they had us on our back foot as we booked a table outside but were told they were “fully committed”. Even though we were early, we still had to wait to sit, INSIDE, until ten minutes after our reservation time.

Then? Thirty minutes until we had menus and water. Forty minutes until we had a waitress. Two hours until our food saw the table, and even then it was incomplete.

The staff was friendly, but the management of this place is clearly ill-equipped to prepare for the logistics necessary of managing a restaurant. Don’t bother, a real disappointment.

That said, the butter cake is great.

Also the atmosphere is like a steakhouse in Vegas (pejorative).

What a treat from start to finish. ✨ The Penthouse at Mastro's, Beverly Hills delivered one of those rare dining experiences where everything clicks. We happened to visit during Los Angeles Restaurant Week—which I hadn't realized at the time—but that ended up being a lovely bonus rather than the reason for the magic. Truthfully, I would've ordered the same classics regardless: a shrimp cocktail and filet mignon are my forever steakhouse go-tos. That said, The Penthouse elevated these staples to an entirely new level. The flavors were pristine, the quality exceptional, and the execution flawless. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable—warm, polished, and attentive, from valet all the way through to our table. My date ordered the rack of lamb and declared it one of the best he's ever had—perfectly prepared, beautifully seasoned, and impressively generous in portion. And of course, no steakhouse experience is complete without a proper pre-dinner cocktail. My ice-cold martini was perfectly shaken and exactly what the moment called for. We ended the evening sharing the iconic butter cake—decadent, rich, and indulgent—but honestly, the dinner itself was so satisfying we could have skipped dessert and still left thrilled. As if the night needed anything more, a live violinist serenaded guests, adding an elegant, romantic touch that made the evening feel truly special. An exceptional meal, elevated by atmosphere, music, and top-tier service—The Penthouse at Mastro's is a Beverly Hills experience done right. 🍸🥩🎻

My wife and i have been here 2 times before and enjoyed how attentive the waiter was and felt very well taken care of. However this time, when we came for my wife's birthfay, sadly the waiter Matt we had was not attentive and the bussers noticed and were kind to offer to communicate our needs to the waiter for us many times. We had a round of drinks and though all our glasses were empty he didnt ask if we wanted more. My wife had to ask after we finally flagged him down. We had to ask for silverware, and there were minimal checkins. The restaurant wasnt busy and our waiter was always behind the kitchen entrance soo doubtful he was busy with others. Generally disappointing. We had loved going but may be a while before we return. The food is good but in LA can get that anywhere.

Tyler was our service and MADE our experience. He was so animated, caring and passionate about taking care of us. Gavin was also extremely attentive. Thank you both for making our night memorable!

Amazing from start to finish- always a great dinner and ambiance, and this was a special and fun night out with my kids.

My experience would have been 5 stars, however I ordered a strawberry martini and the strawberry in my drink was molded. The drink tasted good, but by the time I noticed the mold it had been sitting in my drink for over an hour. I was finishing the last of my drink when I realized it. The staff was very nice and replaced the drink right away, but unfortunately I woke up the next morning with an upset stomach and I've been unable to keep food down since my dinner last night. I just hope they are more aware so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Gorgeous decor. Live singer (whom sounded amazing) the food was just too notch, along with the service. I highly, highly recommend this place.

Went to celebrate my mom's birthday and our server went above and beyond! She was so sweet and made us feel so special. It was great. Also, loved the violinist!!! He was incredible. And the was great. Never disappoints.

It was a great experience. The staff was extremely accommodating especially to some of the party changes that we had and the movement of our tables. Tyler, our server, was attentive and great. Loved the experience.
